thanks slo at least i did better than i thought i was going to do. Which prioves i am a good driver i got alot of props from the older pros on it being my first time out. but lucky for me there was a big enough course to really take advantge of the power the car has.
you will find different courses really cater to different cars. this weeks scca event at beaver really catered to smaller fwd cars like civic hatches and vwâs and what not. and the last few NHSCC events catered to high HP cars like the FTD z06 and the speed nation beast ass turbo neon.
glad you had fun doing some REAL racing. watch out, the autox crack pipe can get ahold of you easily.
yeah it was definately fun and slightly addicting well for myt friend at least hes setting his car up now to do mainly auto x he has a new evo w/ more mods than brains hell be low 11âs soon
just because a car is fast does not mean it will be a fast autox car. its a delicate balance between power, weight, suspension and MAINLY the driver.
i dont care how well anyone thinks they can drive on the street. driving on a track or autox course is completely different. it may look slow from a spectator point of view, but its very fast for the driver and a hell of a lot of fun. good luck to you and your friend for the rest of the season. remember seat time is the best mod you can do! no mods to the car will ever make as much of an improvement as improving of driver skill.
See⌠told you you would <3 AutoX!!!
Congrats on doing well! Like you said, it does prove a lot about your driving. Before ppl jump all over me ( :naughty: ) I know drag racing takes skill. Especially in a M6 Fbody on street tires launching is a fine art, and most average Joes can get it down the track but a tenth of a second wasted on a slow 2-3 shift can mean the difference between a win and a loss in bracket racing. But AutoX requires a whole different type of driving skill. Youâre going to face probalby 2 dozen turns in about a minute. To run a good time youâre going to need to setup for each one perfectly and drive at the extreme limit the whole time. In general not even the best of the best make a âperfect runâ so youâll also need to recover from your mistakes. You have to take your car to places 99% of drivers canât and donât. And the rush is insane.

PS- Cuttyâs just skkkkurd of the turns. But w/ his buckets I would be too!
Well saidâŚI have an M6 F-body with stock tires and they are hard to launch(well at least for my sad ass). I will have to say there is a bit more skill invloved in autocrossâŚallthough drag racing does take a lot of skill too. My first run when I pushed my car to itâs limits in autocross was the biggest rush I had since the first time I got my d*ck wet.
duck wet???
