So, every spring city workers come to my parking garage and use the fire hose system to clean it. Well today they come to pressurize the system to test it for this weekend, and APPARENTLY one of these 4" diameter pipes that carry 100psi of water pressure decide they don’t like their job and go kaplooey. It just so happens that said lazy pipe runs directly above the office.
Soooo now it’s raining in our office, there’s about a half inch of standing water…so I walk in…light are still on, computers still running, the lighting fixtures that have water running through them are flickering…so me being the rational employee that I am I naturally suggest we kill all power going to the office.
But nooooo they decide work is too important, and call our maintenance guy, a friend of mine to MOP UP THE WATER.
:headbang
Here’s a pic, please note the Fridge is still on, along with the lights that water is currently pooling in/running through:
that extension cord is actually designed to bear loads up to 75lbs, says right on it, so technically the aspect of hanging the shop vac from it was well thought out.
