My motor options

but why be limited on pump when you can go so much further on race gas, after you add so much boost it doesent become the issue of whos the better tuner. it just simply isent stable under those pressure conditions

easy street ride, street rides run on pump gas

I disagree.

My experience with Buick’s = pump gas tune on the edge carries some risk.

Racegas adds some cushion with the ability to build more boost.

I’ve seen Buick experts get +120 rwhp on a racegas tune using FAST. (no other chnages other than fuel and tune)

Street racers don’t check what’s in the tank, I say add some nitromethane and tune away.

true but for any street car, u cant always stop at any gas station and pick up 105+octane gas. they do have 93 tho

if you drive the car alot on the street then tune for 93 only.

BULL SHIT

yeah they make great numbers on 93 whoopie

sure tune for 93, but i see nothing wrong with adding a lil love sauce if im goinb to the track or know im gonna be running it hard…

reguardless of race car or street car no one wants to blow there shit up

sure i can run my turbo without an intercooler, but why would i?

id rather spend 20 or so bucks for some added saftey,

sure you can tune and run it great big number on pump gas, but there are to many lil things that can cause a simple boost spike, and it all over… a lil extra octane would help control that extra boost,

im sure your not gonna sit there and say stenoid or speed inc cant tune cause they add a lil sex sauce into one of there cars…

considering im not bostin my motor at all, i wont run race gas.

i have pretty much decided on my motor im going to go with, a all forged 347 short block from HPE for about 2600 bucks, goign to call them and see if thats true, b/c thats a great deal then, and see what it all comes with. Now just to decide what cam i want to go with

also check out speed inc street blocks all forged 347 herd nothing about good things from them

and also LME makes some real baddass motors

thanks spangs!!! the speed inc. one is a lil more expesive but ill look into it, and lme…u have a website?? or maybe they have an add on Ls1tech

http://www.latemodelengines.com/

and wheel 2 wheel have some incredible motors

all forged 347 and spray the piss out of it

ius your block messed up???

cause you could just get a nice rotating assembly and some new bearings and such and have you curent block done…

i think im gonna do that with my other motor.

ya to get a nice assebmly from like texas speed with out bearins and such would put me around 1900 bucks, wiht out shipping, then ship it, plus bearing and maybe some machine work ill be right around 2500 bucks, soo thats why i was going to call HPE and see whats all in that all forged 347 for 2600 bucks

slp 402 was like 3500 i thought? that could be a very nice deal too

so many ppl run 93 and make great numbers and been doing it for years!!!

with pump gas tunes you can drive it daily and get gas daily if needed. thus a street ride.

another true deffintion of street car compared to race car

interesting…

HOT ROD PUMP GAS DRAGS

for the win! look at all the insanely fast cars in there and they run 93. i know ppl on race gas goin slower!!

The things they have to do to get those things to run like that on pump gas don’t exactly make for the most street friendly ride. so just cause it runs on street gas doesn’t mean it’s a street car. so don’t go and think you are going to go do that to your average camarobird or 'stang.

idk some of the setups looked pretty street friendly to me. there was a vid here of that one guys 408 on the bottle that hit high 8’s and he drove it to and from the track. motor didnt sound that crazy, and car had full weight.
