I’ve been seeing a bunch of new catbacks lately, so I thought I’d show off my new super pimp exhaust.
For those who don’t know, I recently purchased an RS*R Exmag 3" catback for my S13 (stock KA).
Those of you who do know, likely also know that my car is probably the loudest car in SON (at least the loudest with a proper exhaust). Unfortunately, the camera I used to take the videos below don’t do this thing ANY justice if anything it actually doesn’t sound as bad… but it still sounds rediculously stupid even in the videos.
I’m a little dissipointed that I can’t show off how extremely loud this piece of crap is in the videos, but I took the videos so I’m going to post them anyway.
Make sure you RIGHT-CLICK / SAVE TARGET AS… as they won’t stream from the server.
*Note: In the “In Car” video, I tried to keep the camera on the gauges to show how slow I’m actually accelerating - with the exception of shifting a little higher than normal it’s normal city driving. On the highway I can’t use my cellphone because I have to yell and can’t hear anything… My girlfriend hates it because we can’t talk while were on the highway unless we yell… just trying to put this in to perspective for you. I’ll make a highway video if there is any interest… unfortunately this silly camera just doesn’t pick up the sound like I hoped it would…
Also, I’m fully aware that this is partially due to my running a 3" exhaust on a KA, but still - this is supposed to be one of the best and quietests exhaust available.
Good questions Walter, I totally forgot to talk about the rest.
I’ve got a custom header that was already on the car when I got it earlier this summer. The piping from the header to the cat is 2.5" with a 2.25" bottleneck welded in before the 2.5" cat to keep the backpressure up a bit with the new 3" catback.
So, this noise is coming from the header + 3" catback, but should be reduced slightly by the 2.25" bottleneck and 2.5" cat.
Any other KA guys have this piece of shit exhaust?
I figured I would be in the same situation if I had installed the free 3" Motoria test pipe that came with my cat-back, so I left it off and I’m happy.
John, what do you say we see how loud we can get this bitch! Let’s replace your cat with my test pipe and see if we can lose our hearing!!
I like how it looks - it’s different, not too flashy, but slick.
Anyhow, I just hope it works out.
btw: infamous, it sounds alright but I was complaining about the volume - unfortunately like I said I can’t explain how loud it is via the tiny crappy camera on the digi cam I used to record that.

If you want good sound out of a KA get a Hotshot performance header and straight pipe to the back with a magnaflow straightflow dual port muffler and then bump your timing so you run a little rich :thumleft:
People love the noise my car makes even at just idle or low RPM it still sounds good and shooting a fireball or two out the back while accelerating or downshifting doesn’t look so bad at night either :lol:
…Oh just make sure you know someone that does e-tests before you do that :lol:
