My new toy for all year long - SCAT Hovercraft

^thank you. thats what i was asking.

Yes it will. The engine/fan can be completely off and it will float like a boat

That is fucking sweet, and your dad looked like he was having a blast!!

Wait til it gets out in the open. He’s had a shit eatin’ grin ever since I told him about this one and that I wanted to get it. He’s loving it and spending his free time working on it.
Soooooon.

Researching options for repairing the ABS plastic hull at the moment. Wiring has been redone. Front cowl and guages are being rebuilt. Spare holes are being fiberglass filled.

Doing donuts in your ex-rescue hovercraft in your 100x70 suburban back yard… ALL THAT IS MAN!

LOL

Cheap for someone that wants to get into one. Motor and fan are relatively cheap

On a sidenote, mine might be out this week

Bring it to the Letchworth meet.

Hmmm, maybe I will

There is one of these in the boatyard by the skyway with the gray grain tower.

On someones property or left abandoned. Any way you can shoot me a link via google maps?

Looks like we will possibly have it out Saturday. Dropped it back to the ground today. Installed new skirt, new runners on hull, epoxy repaired abs hull, rewired entire craft, upgraded lights, upgraded guages, upgraded fan, filled excess holes, rebuilt trailer, etc
Hooked up the electrical tonight and everything worked. All that is left is to fill up with gas, register it, and go

Good to hear!

Bringing it out for the first time this morning (Saturday). So if you are around Gratwick Park on River Road in NT around 10, you’ll see us out there.

Took it out last weekend for a shakedown after rebuilding and upgrading the whole thing. Didn’t push it too much and also didn’t try water yet.

Did get “pulled over” by a cop for using it on what we thought was city property. No, we did NOT get a ticket. Plus he didn’t even know what the hell it was.

And I learned how NOT to exit a moving hovercraft

And the water test was successful

But the regulator fried on us. Less than $40 fix

If this goes dead in the water will it still float?

lol yes, they have sealed hulls
