My s13 240sx Project Watermelon

This is my s13 shell aka the Watermelon that i will be working on for a good 2-3 years to get it running n on the road. I’m 17 so theres no rush really because i got no money :s and still in school. my plan is to get an SR20DET running in it and after get it painted properly. My best friend nate10( SON user name ) is going to be helping me through out the process of this project. there’s going to be a lot of problems i say with me trying to get it running because of where i live. too many nosy people and plus because i live in a townhouse complex and it is parked underground… its gonna b a MISSION and a half. already my second day having the Watermelon down there , i was sent a complaint saying how i’m turning it into a mechanic shop :s? people are just hating that my parking space is big enough to fit my CR-X and 240sx perfectly. i would love to here some positive feedback and tips on my project through out the process. here are some pics of my s13 240sx in my underground. help a brother out…

its not as a big deal as you guys make it seem its around 2x6 but im gunna get draggone on the case as soon as i get some money. u went to see the car too??

Hey man,

Just a quick tip, When you embed your images do it with photobucket that way we dont have to click on the link to see the pictures. Just my 2cents but. the car looks good from the 3 pictures i bothered to look at

Yes, it is just as big of a deal as “we” make it seem.

I’ve seen two cars this year, with struts that went through the hoods. Is probably the most unsafe area on a 240 to have a hole.

Glad to see you’re getting it fixed.

Definitely a warning from someone who has been around for a while… fix it before you put the motor in. Hahaha. Worst job to do with the motor in.

I wasn’t trying to get you down on your project, just making sure you know what your getting into. I didnt look at it just because of all the complaints about the rust, but im glad your going to turn it into something nice.

That’s what I told him it’s going to take alot of work and money but it will be fun. Plus the car never came with any interior hardware(nuts and bolts) so thats gonna be a headache.
