This truck is titled as a '96 S-10 but there isn’t a whole lot of it left from '96. The first pic is the most recent with a GMC Sonoma hood (Thanks, PewterSS), 4x4 Sonoma bumper cover and Olds Bravada grill. It’s shaved pretty smooth without the antenna, door handles, or tail lights. The rims are 17" KMC Tramps with 215/45/17 Michelin Pilots. With the high offset rims (they are origionally for my 4x4 S-10 Blazer) I had to use 1.5 inch adapters to correct the offset. The pneumatic suspension is Firestone 2600 air bags on each corner fed with (8) 10mm SMC valves and 1/2 airline out of a 12 gallon tank. The air is supplied with a ViAir 450c and soon to be added is my York EDC. The front setup is Belltech 2" drop spindles with suicidedoors.com bag brackets. The rear is also suicidedoors parts - S-10 specific 3 link with super pivot joints with an 8" step notch and flame brackets. The rear bridge was just some metal scraps available to me. I don’t even know how to explain the setup I built for my additional tail lights and license plate. Here is the thread pertaining to that, but most of the pics have been removed… the vids towards the end of the thread are still up. http://www.pittspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4757
But seems people like pics better than words…
This pic is from the other day. The sonoma bumper is just on for a mock up. I still need the support for behind it. The tire also needs air.
Another angle with my old bumper on it.
Here is an older pic showing my LEDs. This was before I added the rear tail light setup.
Rats nest of wires and air hose! Here is the rear setup before I got a chance to run the wires properly.
haha, I still crack up when I read that.
Better pic of the rear setup without the bed.
Another angle of above.
Comparative pic to show height…
Doubles as a recycler…
Depicting 2 extremes with my buddy Terry’s monster truck… complete with 4 wheel steering!
Still shot from a video I made a few springs ago. I like sparks.
Make a post for your truck to help populate the truck section. I have some pics of the motor swap around here somewhere I will post for you.
I haven’t been to Terry’s place for awhile, maybe I’ll stop over there sometime next week and get some updated pics of his rig. He was planning on 4 more inches of body lift since I last saw it (that pic) and also a tilt front clip and hydraulic bed.
Surprisingly, before he did this chassis swap, he did! It was always muddy. At the time is was stock frame jacked up as high as he knew how to get it. I think 36 or 38s on it. Now its a fully custom built 4 wheel steering with 44s and he’s hoping to go bigger on the tires (the 44s came with the chassis when he bought it) He also had the old chassis for sale the last time I was over there. It was in 4 wheelin magazine 2 or 3 years ago with the old chassis. They asked him to do a photoshoot and he got a really nice article written up for him and the truck although he didn’t make the cover. They got some nice action shots of him jumping some sand dunes.
at the time I didn’t have any means to get a video onto the PC. This spring I will make a better video… maybe do a 6 pack at once after I shake them up?? who knows
Well I did get a newer pic the other day… I took it for Bravada 442 since he loaned me his set of rims. I just wanted to show him how cool they look tuckin the balloon tires…
