im another advoctae for more turbo, less seat.
It’s called a pillion pad. It’s usually for a passenger, but I’m going to use it as a seat back because the seat will be angled a lot more than as shown. It’s part of the look I like.
I’ll continue forth with the turbo plan but may ditch the efi. Blow through carb with 5 psi might be on order with a magneto ignition.
I was close!
Amped on the turbo ideas.
I wasn’t even close…looks awesome.
Still on track to keep the turbo. I went let 'all down.
Anyway, I did some stuff…
Didn’t want to use a standard pivot/spring seat suspension, so I made something sort of different.
Everything was made by hand:
The idea was that the rear crossmember would be stainless and unpainted, then this device would sit over it, the wheels would roll on it and the springs would act as a suspension. It actually worked when I put it all together, but in order to make up for the for/aft travel at the rear I had to make the whole thing a bit “sloppier” than I’d like, so I’m not going to end up using it. But it was a cool experiment. Here are two more pictures.
I have a new plan. More on that in the future. So i needed to make something I knew was going to keep, so I made these little lower fender supports. Made everything from scratch, even the bungs.
And then I built this sissy/fender support. Pretty happy with the way it came out. Again, even made the bungs. More soon!
Very cool idea for the seat
sissy bar is clean. nicely done.
Strong Thumb. Nice work.
Interesting word choice. I smashed both my thumbs pretty badly making this.
Was the rear fender made using a 3D printer? If so I think you should keep. Using new methods to recreate old school looks would definitely set this apart from other builders.
My plan is to use the printed piece. May up the material to an 8ksi mat’l though.
Got one of these short stumpy things, 5.5" eye2eye I think, New old stock. Trade you a favor for it.
Going to start turbo plumbing this week.
I got some taillights from an old British tank type thing. They’re pretty rad. Going to run them both, staggered, on the right side. One tail. One brake.
those lights rule!
Needs more subtle tank parts
That’s awesome how the lens screws in…
Looking good. Off topic but I saw you in the first few rows on RAW the other night on tv,lol. You had a huge smile.
lol wtf?
Dude I was literally LOLLING the whole 3 hours. Hilarious. My first time ever watching more than 10 minutes of wrestling. HAHA!
