My sponsored 78 shovelhead build thread

Awwwwww its adorable!!!

BOV’s are pretty much all kinda big…what about a simple plastic diverter valve/bypass valve instead?

also, would love specs/price/place-where-purchased info on that turbo :snky: lol

It’s a garret gt1241. I paid $650 for it.

That thing is hilariously short.

“Gimme a holler.”

Make your own bov, shaped like something foolish.

^ +1

I thought about making one but there is SO much to do, I have to budget what I spend my time on.

lol @ Mountain Holler

Big ole’ mushroom tip bov. do it, you won’t.

A penis shaped blow off valve that atmospherically purges through the dick hole.

You’ve obviously thought of this before. lol.

I own a Miata

Still waiting on stuff so I designed and fabbed these rear wheel adjusters. Basically you swing the cam around until it locates the wheel correctly, then install the lock. Pretty simple. Each tooth is about 1/32 of adjustment, and you have some play with the bolts for the lock. Built from 304SS

Without the lock. Smooth cam rides on the boss:

Getting better at this:

Cheers!

gonna design a special tool to aid in leverage to swing the cam?

pretty sweet idea BTW.

lol… a chain doesn’t need to be that tight.

I didn’t mean for making the chain that tight, I’m just saying from experience it might not be easy as butter to turn those once the bike is fully assembled…will probably need either a way to gain leverage, or will have to whack at the backside of the tire with a rubber mallet while putting pressure on the cam for it to turn/tension

i can just bump them with a hammer or put a big crescent wrench on them. I think a custom tool would be a bit silly.

Would you need to have the cam set up on both sides to keep the wheel straight? I like it, looks tits.

Yes, there is a left and a right.
