Good job Ronnie, I was looking into doing a FC5.0L swap not too long ago.
any pics of the interior where the shifter is located? is it in the factory location?
Thanks
Shifter is located a little more forward. I actually prefer it there. Better reach and its a shorter throw than the stocker. Nothing feels as good as a good condition gated T5 with a short throw.
its just a simple blockoff plate as the shifter surround. I have seen people locate it in the stock position but I think it requires a linkage system and that just takes away from the solid feel.
Third gear…T5’s and third gear…be careeeeeeeeeeeful
Old school 5.0L
all torque high end pure sucked on those engines, they were 1/4 mile engines and nothing more. Great engine to build on and the cost of performance parts for the old school 5.0L are dirt cheap!
Good luck and have fun with it.
I learned that the hard way lolzzzzzzzzz.
Third gear power shift with a stock ungated shifter. bad news.
With the MAC short throw the gates are much better and helps prevent that problem big time.
Werd up, no top end from factory. Once you open the heads up a little and work the valves it feels a shit load better! Big difference from stock to ported heads.
