just curious if anyone has any info on this subject? looked around but have found nothing…
from what i have heard / read the 2.0L Turbo Theta Is very similar to the sr20det, just many years newer. As far as i can tell the mechanical portions of the motors seem to be very similar
its obviously doable if u do custom mounts whatever… u can put any motor into anything as long as dimensions are okay… but why… but if u want to… do research and do it i guess… woopie do :-/ Good luck.
Just its gona be custom driveshaft, custom mounts on engine, tranny, potential fitment issues with manifold, turbo, u name it… and of course wiring/ecu
I dont think anyone will be able to give a concrete answer 100% as it hasnt been done yet… would have to try to test fit it to really know obviously… and i dont think anyone has as of yet… not sure if u can even get the theta from junkyards or what have you yet.
^^^ yea i saw that link just shows pics though nothing at all about how it fits ect…
not necessarily going to do it just was bored in class today and got thinking…
cant wait to get back working! lol only 2 months of schooling and im loosing it already.
well as you can clearly see the intake/exhaust are on the other side, so for a 240sx it would be a better idea. Wont overheat break fluid or have any issues with rack clearance with ghetto turbo outlet/downpipes. You will have to make a crossover exhaust tho also.
there is no real way to tune these motors yet is there? <–thats a question cause im not 100% sure if i was talking to someone about the soulstis motor or w/e
anyways. eff all that shit and ls the bitch. or at least put the 300hp v6 motor.
If any proof was needed, it can be found in the latest addition to Hyundai’s trophy cabinet, with Hyundai’s all-new 4.6 litre Tau V8 engine, (which debuted in the premium Genesis sedan in the US) being named one of “Ward’s 10 Best Engines” for 2009 by Ward’s Auto World. This marks the first time that a Hyundai engine has appeared in the “Ward’s 10 Best Engines” list.
“The engine’s velvety power delivery, competitive performance and attainable price epitomise the Korean auto maker’s drive for world-class engineering,” concluded the Ward’s Auto World editors
Hyundai’s 4.6 litre Tau V8 engine develops 280kW and leads its competitors with the highest specific output - 61kW per litre. Partnered with the widely acclaimed ZF 6-speed automatic transmission, the V8 Hyundai Genesis will achieve up to 9.4 l/100 km on the highway, a level of efficiency that Hyundai claims surpasses many prestigious key competitors’ V6 models in fuel economy as well as power.
If this motor is so called “debuted in the premium Genesis sedan in the US” this could possibly just bolt into the Genesis coupe?
I do not care how good Hyundai is. You’ll NEVER see me putting a KDM motor in my car. Fuck that.
Stupid and uber gay.
So many parts available for an SR, RB, VQ, etc etc etc.
The Genesis motor…what is out already? Not to much. When stuff does come out, it’ll be insane expensive.
It’d be good for someone with money. Just to say they was the first to do it.
The 2.0L is similar to the Evo engine, most people just turn the boost up or so I’ve read, and get decent performance. I don’t think it’ll take long for people to develop parts for it. I still wouldn’t throw it in a 240 though. Keep it in the family. That Genesis sedan V8 in a Genesis coupe could be awesome though. I was watching some videos of Kaaz Korea drift school in the Genesis coupe looks dope. I want…
