NAACP Finally speaks out regarding Michael Vick.

In support of him? :bloated:

For those of you just tuning in, Vick is accused of years of organizing dog fights, including torture and killing of the losing dogs after the fight. Hanging, drowning, and shooting them.

R.L. White, president of the Atlanta chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said the Atlanta Falcons quarterback has been vilified by animal rights groups, talk radio and the news media and prematurely punished by his team and corporate sponsors.

“If Mr. Vick is guilty, he should pay for his crime, but to treat him as he is being treated now is also a crime,” White said at a news conference. “Be restrained in your premature judgment until the legal process is completed.”

White plans to contact Vick to see what assistance the Atlanta NAACP chapter can offer.

OK so the Duke kids got treated as if they were guilty from the start and according to the NAACP it was logical, but when a societal figure who is a Black man is on the chopping block the same type of treatment is unfair??

Go figure lol

(Please see previous racial rants)

I’m with the NAACP.

Until he is found guilty of anything, you cannot condemn him. We are not the judge or jury in the case.

Secondly, i think it’s funny that the USA is so fucking outraged about this whole thing. It really shows a remarkable lack of perspective.

Fair enough.

Does it? Unlike people, animals are 100% innocent, 100% undeserving of torture. Therefore I am 100% outraged when humans, who choose their actions, choose to inflict pain on a pure creature.

But I assume you understand this being a vegan, so maybe I’m ignorant to the lack of perspective you are referring to? :gotme:

Where in that quote that you showed does it reference race at all???

Ronny Mexico is being turned into America’s next top psycho a little prematurely.

Kobe raped a girl and Ray Lewis was part of a DOUBLE MURDER and no one pulled their endorsments, as a matter of fact nike came out to stand up for Kobe. Neither one missed a minute of playing time etc. This doesn’t justify at all what any of them did but america is being a little too quick to jump the gun on this one.

Innocent until proven guilty, but it’s not looking very good for him now that one of the guys took a plea and has agreed to testify against him. I was reading that part of his testimony is that Vick bankrolled not only the kennel but the gambling as well.

So if he’s guilty, I hope they charge him with anything they can and he gets the absolute max on each charge. This isn’t some guy from the ghetto with no options, taking a chance on an illegal activity because he’s got a dead end life. This is a guy who just signed a $130 million dollar long term deal. He’s in this dogfighting ring because he’s a sick fuck, just doing it for kicks.

As for people not caring about other atrocities happening around the world, yep, we don’t. Genocide in Darfur, not much we can do about it. Dogfighting here in the US, that’s something public outrage can do something about.

^Nobody posted a clip.

NAACP stands for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, a racially focused organization.

Whether or not endorsements are pulled have nothing to do with justice, only business. Michael Vick has a bad image now regardless of whether or not he’s been found guilty, so pulling endorsements is a sound business decision.

we slaughter thousands of animals a day, fighting to the death occurs in nature everywhere :bloated:

i’m not saying i support it, or i think its humane, but jesus the hipocracy runs deep here

Well. I agree that animals are 100% innocent, but so are hundreds of kids blown apart in the gaza strip.

Also, i am not huge into promoting veganism, but the conditions that your breakfast went through was probably worse than the conditions any of those dogs went through.

Just sayin.

Then someone will say that dogs have a personality and pigs don’t.

And then i can cite a ton of examples that prove otherwise, but it’s a lost cause.
