Just a question, but when exactly is the deadline to register?
Thanks for the tips. We’ll setup the course accordingly.
I also beleive the speeding warning has been posted in our registration document.
Nick, as soon as possible man!!!
Chris, you can leave me on, but I won’t be in the same car so I hope they don’t care about that.
You racing? If so, just change the registration info. You still have time.
Please see the track update above. More straights added. This will be a fast one!
Just a note. The Porsche Club brings donuts and coffee from Tims for the Gatekeepers. Apparently they like this.

How many gate keepers?
There will be 2, one at the main gate, and one at the range control office.
Just a note people. The track had to be altered. The WCMA regulations state, under Solo 2 insurance, that our top speeds cannot exceed 110kph. Due to this, the track straight away has been altered to remain under that limit.
Thanks.
This sounds like a last minute discovery. Did you or PyreXXX or whoever is organizing this track day not notice when someone brought this fact up in a previous thread just prior to the original July 23rd date? (it was a thread either on here or on 780tuners, I forget where and who said it) Or did certain people just choose to ignore it back then?
Jason
It’s cause we weren’t sure which insurance we were getting, and I thought the insurance was purchased to allow for a higher speed than 110kph. Now we are under solo2.
Ah… gotcha. :partyman:

It’s usually the guy at the second gate that gets the treatment. Sometimes there’s two of them though. Maybe a box of Timbits or a couple of donuts or something. Just a little token to help make that human connection. As for the Solo 2 insurance, I’m surprised. I do the PCA events and have had my V well into 140km/h entering the stop box. Those 911 Turbos go up tp 180+. I’ll ask about that and get back to you. Maybe there’s more to it or maybe the PCA event isn’t covered.
I’m still waiting for a response from my friend but I think I may have found the answer myself. According to section 2.1 in the 2005 Solo Rules PDF from the SCCA site, there seems to be some flexibility in top speeds so long as certain rules are followed. See section 1 also.
Hmmm, SCCA? Maybe thats why. We are with the WCMA, and have to go by their rules under Solo 2. I know solo 1 you can do otherwise.
Maybe that’s it. Either way, you’ll have loads of fun. Your course layout looks good. You probably don’t have to modify it much either. I wish I wasn’t working! BTW, what is WCMA anyways? Is it West Coast Motorists Association or something like that?
Western Canadian Motorsports Association.
And yeah, last minute discoveries suck ass - this’ll be the last time I concentrate ONLY on registrations and not the required rules/insurance! :?
Ahh, its all a big learning curve. Next time, we’ll know what to do, and not do, for sure.
Hey it’s all good, it’s about having a good time, and lots of runs. Everything else is semantics.
Any chance anyone would be interested in giving a couple of 15 year olds a ride to and from the event, from St. Albert?
