Well fixed the ignition problem but my car still won’t turn over. It will crank and crank but no go. It gets feul and spark.
I seriously need some help here.
It’s a 383 SBC.
If anyone thinks they can help, PM me and we can talk about compensation.
does it even sound like it’s catching at all?
and what were you doing to the car before this?

are the plug wires connected right?
carb’d right?
I replaced the heads.
Plugs are connected good. The carb I actually did not touch, I left it as it was since befor the heads replacement.

did you do a compression test?
Check wire order
hit the start with a hammer
try cranking, if no check timing and compression
also make sure distrib is timed correctly
I have not done a compression test nor do I know how unfortunately.
I’m going to go over the timing again.
do a hard timing just incase the distribby was put back in just a few teeth off
disconnect fuel pump pull one spark plug thread in compression tester.take reading on all 8 cyl
i used to really like forgetting to ground the heads to the firewall whenever i’d do anything important… just throwing it out there
Did you set your rockers at 0 lash? Are the adjustable? Maybe you put your dist. in 180 off. Do you get any type of backfire? Either through exhaust or carb?
It did start backfiring when we put gas in the carb. I’m going to take the dist out and redo the wiring order at TDC.
I will also take the vlave covers off and see if the any of the rockers are too tight.
