ok, so next spring im going to have a lot of extra money floating around…so Im thinking about building up a little “fun” car…preferably something lightweight, cheap and that has engine swaps readily available. Im not looking to make killer horsepower, but some “get up and go” would be nice…so far im thinking…
85 Corolla GT-S w/ 4A-GE Silvertop…
91 Talon is a possibility, but I was hoping for something a little more…stealth…
85ish MR2 w/3S-GTE swap…havent really looked into that one yet…
The Silvertop is a good choice, but I would also consider the 4A-GZE for the Corolla, as well as keeping the 4A-GZE in the MR2 rather than swapping in the 3S-GTE.
stick with the ae86 ! They are an old car but very fun to drive cosidering the weight and weight transfer of the car. I know turbo cars give you such adernaline, but theres nothing like a nice screaming all motor, like a silvertop 86. There handling of the car and pure out accelaration in that light chassi is whats gonna keep you on your toes!! so much fun but yet not crazy amounts of horsepower. There is alot information you can find at club4ag.com with plenty of friendly poeple to help you out.
goodluck i hope you make up your mind
72 corolla, rx3 or 210/510 Td06-20G or GT38/45 3 ROTOR!!!
edit: scrub that… just get a 83-84 FB ( rx-7) and drop in a 3 rotor, use the FC front and rear subframes , a set of universal fender flares and your almost untocuable by anything under 50K
bah, sticking a JZ engine into a nissan is way more work then just dropping in the RB25/26… pop the OS giken stroker kit on it and you’ve got a 3L RB but now your getting ito stupid money…
suggestions are great but what is the amount your looking to spend… you can just get a early 70’s or 80’s JDM coupe of some kind, RWD of course and find a cheap ass FJ20… get a BIG BIG BIG turbo and it will run 32psi all day…
