Just like the title says, looking to buy a suit. Any 518 recommendations? Im going to goto Macys tomorrow but Im not too sure they’ll have anything in my $300 budget that I’ll like. I have shirts, shoes, and belts so I just need the coat and pants.

im an odd size (40 or 42 extra long i think) and just went to JCpenny’s, macy’s, gentlemans warehouse and finally joseph a banks. joseph a banks was the only one who cared enough to make the altercations work (actually BOUGHT a suit from gentleman’s warehouse and after 3 alterations it still fit like shit to had to return it)
bottom line, joseph a banks FTW, got a ballin’ ass suit for 40% off or something

Go to Macy’s or Penny’s. You can find really great sales at Macy’s and if you apply for a Macy’s CC you get 20% off. I bought a Calvin Klein suit a few years back for like $300 or less and it looks good!
well i went in there knowing what i wanted (simple blue suit) so there wasn’t really much browsing to do but it seemed like if i had to browse they’d be fine with that, you know? lol

Dude I was talking to this guy who sold suits at that place on broadway. He was just shooting the shit with me and told me how they after labor day will run these huge sales like one weekend a month two custom made suits for $200. and you could add custom tailored shirts for like $45
boscovs in colonie center usually has good pricing, i picked up a suit for like 150.
Their shit is expensive as hell though. I bought some clothes there a few years ago for a wedding and spent $200. I just bought a pair of pants, a shirt and a tie.
Ive heard bad things about menswarehouse, from low quality suits to them being very overpriced. Today I actually found a pretty nice suit from J. Ferrar which is somewhat of an entry level company but their suits have an athletic fit to them so it fit me nicely since Im pretty lean. The jacket and pants were on sale for $180 and I beleive were usually $290, so Ill probably do a bit more shopping around tomorrow and hopefully buy one tomorrow.
