"Need-to-knows" on a Grand National motor

who needs a pole?

:eek3:

Wouldent a turbo 99+ chevy setup be cheaper?

4.8 5.3 or 6.0?
then u could tune with HP tuners

im not down with riding the bandwagon…

I hate to break it to you jay. But you on a wagon with the GN stuff, a wagon with wooden wheels!

why does everyone on TB.com say thats they are no more higher nickel than any other block? you really think GM made special provisions just for the turbo buick? i mean were talkin about 30,000 cars or so. until i see some lab results i’m doubting that urban legend.

here ya go C-nut

now the lifter valley of a 109 N/A or turbo block is beefier than that of an earlier 3.8. the 4.1 and 84/85 3.8 are very similar in the lifter valley and the 4.1’s have been proven into the 700 hp range.

**** nick-

molecule compounds and metal alloys is not one of the things that i trust to “someone” with lab access

richard clark i trust-
everyone else don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground

wow, thats a lot of GN’s!!

I’ve started to loose the love of putting the 3.8l in it… I dont have any decent motors laying around anymore, so i’ll have to build from scratch.

I think 6-700whp is what i’d like to have… but it seems like it takes an extra amount of work to make that out of a 3.8l (maybe not, im still not educated enough on it). I like the idea of an aluminum head/block motor as well so if i blow it up i can weld it back up and slide another sleeve in it…

LSx

You should put a big block ford in it, since you like to be different. I even have a motor for you. :D:D:D

i’d like to use a motor that weighs less than the car itself

:stupid:

you could get ur 6-700hp easily then

rc knows a lot but where is his proof? thats all im saying. you’ve been tellin me for years the 109 is “special” but i’ve yet to see proof and only have heard they are no different.

my 390FE is only about 600 lbs.

would you two STFU. every damn thread with the mention of g-body has you two b itching at eachother about who knows more about lame a s s cars from the 80’s that noone gives a s h i t about anymore.

this thread is GN certified since it mentions richard twice :bigthumb:

well obviously this thread was started because someone does care about a lame a s s car from the 80’s

I’m not a scientist but this is something on paper that makes sense and i can reference.

ur still my boy C-Nut

oo i like that! thanks man.
