they RECOMMEND it goes on the outside of the car, that way it gets the best reception as its in clear view of the sky. thats also not to say it can’t work inside the car tho, depending on the car. on cars with tinted windows or the am/fm antena’s that are in the glass i wouldn’t put it on the deck lid.
