My Eee pc model 1005hab doesn’t recognize when the poer chord is plugged in. The charher isn’t the issue, already tried a known good charger. Anyone her want to tackle the issue or know of a good computer repair shop in the area?
Usually the solders break inside, pretty simple repair.
normally, wear and tear from plugging/UN-plugging the charger numerous amounts of time. Like jabbu stated… very well could be the solder broke.
You could try WNY computer pro…I know he can do refluxing and soldering and all that good stuff.
Again like everyone said the solder on the inside is broken. The Dc jack needs to be replaced and a new one soldered in, basically the whole netbook needs to come apart and a new dc soldered to the mobo, I have done this on plenty of laptops, throw me a text if you want me to tackle it.
Luke, like I said before if you don’t wanna mess with it let me get it to my buddy John…dude is a magician with computers lol.
You know how many horror stories I’ve seen that start like that?^
“Yeah my buddy knows a lot about computers…now my laptop doesn’t start” … Not saying he doesn’t know his shit.
he’s a network admin and IT specialist for Erie County lol.
Network admin AND IT specialist how does he find the time?
Whoever you get to fix this make sure they have soldered/desoldered an actual circuit board before…big difference vs putting two wires together and tossing some solder on it.

Didn’t it take you months to trace a low voltage electrical issue with your DSM?
Well then I hope he DOES know his shit. Just saying how many times I’ve heard the “My <insert relative> knows a lot about computers” line followed by some dumbshit they’ve installed or done. Makes me skeptical on who actually knows what they are doing.
95% of computer repair shops don’t solder anything now a days.
Software, network and hardware support are VERY different things. Hell hardware in terms of swapping components compared to circuit level soldering are aren’t comparable.
Anyone you don’t know personally that is willing to help out on something like this is out of their minds IMO. No way in hell I’d bother opening a netbook for solder work, I’d just replace it. /1stworldproblem
^True…lotta work for a 32bit netbook.
Like I said this guy if you’re interested does do soldering.
