New House

Looks like you did well on the sale congrats. No surprise with the current market in North Buffalo. Property sales on my street have gone way above what I ever would imagined as well in the past year. I don’t see them dropping anytime soon either with all the activity in the area.

Thank you and agreed on the prices around here.

Congrats! I moved up to the city a few months ago, and had the same experience with the market. We wanted a double in North Buffalo, with the idea that we’d rent half and live in half. After 3 bidding wars, and loosing the last house after offering 20k over the asking price we decided to just ante up and get a single family. I’m glad we did! I gave up a 1200 sq ft heated shop with a lift for a garage that barely fits two cars. I need to fix that! It seems like there is a trend of people coming in from the suburbs.

Thanks and I hope you love it around here too!

So far I like it. It’s nice being able to walk/run/rollerblade Deleware park.

Wait…you don’t live in the garage now?

Pics of said house and garage or it didn’t happen

@Carbonfiberhooded Drew’s going to need some Cat6 cable run to that garage!

I actually have a great homerun cable that he can have. It contains 2 RG6 and 2 Cat5e with an over jacket. Pull that in some 1.5" conduit and voila.

LED lights this time? @tpgsr

Same experience. I’m closing on my house tomorrow but had to go in at $20k over the asking price to get it. (Negotiated down after inspection of course) It took 2 years to get this house and the frustrating part was finding out how many of the doubles were sold to investors who aren’t even living in the homes.

because its cool and hip to be in the city while its being “reborn”. that and often times you can get more for your money in the city than being out in a nice area of the burbs if you don’t care about lot size.

you guys can have it. there’s some awesome gems for houses but ill stick to rural living.

I dont think you know what you are talking about. At all. Housing in the nice areas of the city is not cheaper compared to the suburbs by a long shot. We get your agenda and sorry some of us like living in social areas with culture in our lives.

Did you not see my 2400sqft house just sold for 380k? Id hardly call that a bargain compared to a home in the sticks err sorry burbs. We live in the city because we enjoy the parks, dining, social atmosphere, culture, etc. I don’t need to judge or insult what you believe is ideal and you can in turn do the same. City is crowded enough.

We are not having YET ANOTHER city vs sticks(burbs) debate in this thread. Start your own.

Thanks

Who said I was judging or insulting? As for getting more bang for your buck in the city, I was not referring to homes like yours. I was referring to the averages in general. Damn, you need to relax.

Im not looking to have a discussion about where people like to live in this thread. I apologize for a harsh response I just didn’t find you posting just to state its not what you would like necessary to the discussion we are having.

Congratulations. It was exhausting for us. My wife would fall in love every time. All three that we lost were to cash buyers (i.e. investors).

I didn’t post just to state what I would like. apparently you missed the majority of my post.

city’s making progress.
younger people like the idea of living in city that’s progressing.
there’s more bang for your buck in areas of the city compared to areas of the burbs in finding a good home.
