Quit my job today (actually gave them my 2 week and resignation letter), so moving on to bigger and better things indeed…So, my boss tried to retain me and kindly I turned him down, but the thing that drives me nuts - Before I left he said…“I hope that you can continue your effort and not slack during these 2 weeks” - do you guys think that’s fucked up? (I worked my ass of for the last year and a half and I am going to screw you over now? Well, actually I am considering doing so now!)
Fuck um’
ehh…dont take it too serious…it is always good to have a good ref…and congrats on the new job…what u doing?
yeah… its just something that most people would do. fuckin give about 55 % because what do they have to lose? ujust keep doin what you have done and keep the good reference.
I don’t need them as a reference is the thing My boss just left 2 weeks ago and I already have that reference (this is the main guy that I had to speak with). I work @ PITT and am in Finance.
sounds sweet…I am Pitt Alum…and have a degree in Finance…if pay is sweet hook a brotha up!!!
damn, ppl gettin jobs lately… Looks like I need to get off my ass and start up the resume sending spree I was on till about a month ago.
Congrats, I would expect all my superiors to say the same to me… but most are good friends and it would be them just hassling me.
congrats
congrats and good luck!
congratz man. there’s nothing better than saying no to your boss!
Congrats!
As a manager I would never say that to an employee who gave me their 2-weeks. Obviously your managers has had issues with that in the past and it’s sad they need to bring it up with others.
What do you consider sweet and I wouldn’t work there, why would you want to?
Also, for my kind of job, they want specific Pitt experience, honestly the best way to get into pitt is www.hr.pitt.edu as they won’t accept anything unless it goes via HR.
I didn’t lower myself to his level and was pretty PC about the situation, I was kurt toward then end though, saying if this is all, then I have work to do…HAHA
“curt”
but seriously good for you for handling that situation
haha…
that’s gay as fuck… but what did you expect??? that place isn’t known for treating their employees exemplary.
it was probably his way of acting like a prick because you are moving onward… typical responce!!!
Good Luck on the New job
When I handed him the letter and closed the door, he read it real quick and the first comment was “Well, this was expected” That had me almost laughing, but had to play it cool. Yeah, well that’s 3 people that have left in 3-4 months now. I feel bad for my replacement. I hope that something is learned from this experience (at least for my boss), but by the sound of it, probably not!
Thanks for the good wishes and Oct. 2nd can’t come quickly enough…
congrats & good luck
