New laws reguarding non stock vehicles? wtfbbq

I hate most cars that are so loud they sound like shit, thats why if I ever put an exhaust on somthing its just going to be a cutout after 02 sensor and leave stock catback.

Ehh… It probably would drew. His Max isnt a powerhouse car, but I wouldent be suprised if his maxima, which wasnt stock in the suspension department IIRC outhandled the catfish.

how many G’s on the skidpad are they, stock? The Camaro SS was .92 on stock suspension…my suspension is far from stock.

Im not sure how the 2010 Mazda 3’s relate suspension wise to a 99 maxima, but in my girls Mazda 3, I cant nearly hit turns as hard as the catfish. Not even close. I find myself braking into the corner, where I can accelerate through in the Goonch.

^ Isn’t your suspension a drag setup though? You’d probably lose G’s on a skidpad than.

no. I set my car up for street suspension (handling)

I have eibach pro kit (lower’s 2.25")
KYB AGX shocks
BMR Lower control arms
UMI Lower control arm relocation brackets
and the Spohn adjustable torque arm

These all work better on the street and the track. If I was on a drag suspension, I would still be stock ride height, with drag rear shocks etc…

My father in-law just bought a brand new Harley last year, and you cant even hear it come around the corner. His old bike you could hear a mile away (which had aftermarket pipes on it), but his new one is pretty quiet. So no, they dont come from the factory like that.

I stand corrected then.

So people who have loud ones order them that way or customize them after the fact?

oh ok mah bad

:rofl:rofl

:facepalm

Why are we rehashing this again? You realize my car wasn’t stock either…right? While I’m sure your car handles great for what it is, the fact that you think mine handled like a POS even after a complete suspension upgrade/overhaul is ridiculous. Have you even driven in a Maxima with my exact suspension? Doubt it, as I was probably the only one in Albany area with that setup (Tokico Illumina struts and H&R springs, upgraded mounts, front and rear strut bars, and new LCA’s, links, and associated bushings/mounts). Most ‘modified’ Maxima’s around here are rolling on 19’s and no drop :rofl. I’m not sure if CustomLowz is dropped or not, but he can probably vouch for that setup as I think a lot of the 5th gen guys also run it. You’re just assuming because it’s a Maxima that it handles like crap. Maybe in stock form it does (.083 G on the skid pad for a 97SE - mine was a 99SE so I don’t know if that number went up or down in that time). That’s fine. But, you don’t know my car as well as I do (I still think that you’re under the impression that my car was stock??), and I don’t know your car as well as you do. Go take a spin in a comparable car and then jump to conclusions. I think it’s a safe bet to say that it is as good or better than your high and mighty aftermarket setup (judging by your words of course, since I’ve never driven in a Camaro or in a Camaro with your setup).

Also, it’s not all about suspension. Wheel weight, car weight, and tires come into play as well. I was running super light 17.7lb (18") wheels and Kumho summer tires. With my current 16" winter tires on the car (Dunlop Winter Sport 3D), I can still do 75-80 on those ramps (the ones I mentioned last time we discussed this) although thats pushing it. I’ve tried and 77 was the most I could do before I felt unsafe. With the Kumho’s I had, I could do well over that. High 80’s.

But again, what do I know? I’m just an immigrant kid who drives Nissans. :lol

As for my post(s) above…I don’t like loud ass ricers either. I think all loud vehicles should be ticketed the same. So don’t get all domestic vs import over there. I’m just saying I’d rather deal with the noise of a ricer as opposed to the noise of a harley or domestic muscle car because it’s slightly quieter and far less obnoxious. Yes it sound stupid, but at least it doesn’t make me want to wear ear plugs to protect my ear drums.

Skidpad g’s don’t mean shit except in magazine tests. How often do you find yourself going in a perfectly flat, 200ft diameter (300ft for C&D) circle? Never.

With that said, I think the Camaro would prolly out handle the Maxi-pad any day.

Supra held skidpad record for rong time.

Like he said. they have these baffels inside the big chrome pipe. It is about 6 inches long and about an inch in dia. its crimped at one end and has some holes drilled into the 1 inch pipe, then the 1 inch pipe is connected to a cone to match the inside dia of the muffler/pipes you see on the side of the bikes.

All you have to do is take a plasma, or even a holesaw the right dia to slip into the pipes and cut through the welds and pull it out. Poor mans drag pipes.

There is a company you send the stockers to and $179 later they do what i just said and weld in this little ring to attach a tip to and make it look a little neater.

Most RUBS (rich urban bikers) just take the pipes off, buy some screamin eagles or what ever and bolt them on, instant bad asses. lol

I grew up around harley riders in my family, I hate the way they sound going by. At idle, they sound bad ass, on the pipe most of them sound like a firecracker inside a garbage can.

Did not know any of that. Thanks.

Come on, the Camaro SS is/was a boat in the suspension department in stock trim.

Stop trying to church it up like Joe Dirt

No.

hay joe dirt just wanted his hemi
