new local domestic tuner

Underboosted…Great question. Here is the answer. For 2010 we put a 3YR/36,000 mile warranty on the full driveline. Engine, transmission, rear end, axles. We put money aside in a special account from every car we sell to cover any issues that might arise. (To this point we have had no problems)
The cars are not red flagged by GM. We have special paperwork that General Motors supplies that states the modifications that we have done. Obviously GM will not cover anything that we have modified or anything that fails due to the increase in horsepower.
We have factory support from the General Motors Performance Parts Division and they are well aware of the modifications we do. (They have flown out on a few occassions and have toured the facility as well as had meetings with us) As you can tell most of our packages include GM Performance parts so they are excited that we buy all the parts direct from them. What I think makes us unique is we self warranty the builds. There really is no gray area and the customers sign paperwork that fully discloses what is covered and what is not. As we all know if you normally go to a modifier you really get no warranty after you have done extreme modifications. We felt that we needed to offer a warranty to make the project fully work. Just like most modifiers that build cars like we do if there is a major failure it does have to come back to us. The customers that buy the cars know that. Hennessey has the same program. I have delivered most of the cars in our hauler anyway and have been as far as California to the west and Florida to the south. If a problem arises we have the ability to resolve the issue. To this point it has not come into play. But if it does we know how to handle it. Most of the people that have bought the cars understand what happens when they heavily modify cars. Most have told me on the phone. “I would not be buying this car if I could not afford to fix it”. Most people feel secure that with us they get more coverage then they normally would when they modify a car on there own. I would hope you would agree.

Thanks
Dan

so then whats the warrenty for? the people who can just barely afford the car?

I’ve spoken with Dan Carlton a couple times via email, nice guy.

Thanks for being professional in here Dan. There is a lack of it on this site.

Deadbeatrec. The warranty goes with car if they purchase it. I think that you really cannot debate that having some coverage is better than no coverage. We have a few different packages that we produce some mild and some wild. We cover the 40,000 range to the 150,000 range. (including a car of course) I have sold cars to all types of people. I am an average guy and I have sold to all types of people. The one thing they all have in common they like performance cars. Just like you.

Boost Creep. I appreciate it. I tend to give everyone a chance. I never go by other peoples opinion. I tend to met someone and then formulate an opinion. I may be in the auto industry but I am an average guy just like all of you. I have no problem with people that voice opinions of peoples character. I just wish sometimes they would do it face to face. Most can have a calm discussion and see if they can work things out. I just tend to think that character assasination via the internet is not a good thing to do.

I came into this forum to clear some things and I was expecting it to end there. I have no idea why it took another turn.

If I get bad service myself I just do not go back. I would hope that most people that have talked with me or done business with me would feel that I treated them with respect.

Pardon my spelling and errors but I just think and type. welcome to paragraph run on.

Dan

LOL at this thread… The people defending redline (minus maverick) are the reasons why the shop gets dogged so much. And even maverick, you couldn’t form a proper paragraph to save baby jesus from being trampled by a crowd full of angry redline owners whose car has blown up on the dyno.

It’s fact around here Maverick that any time a discussion comes up about another performance shop, REDLINE is brought up by his nut swingers and we’re all assholes for not having 50K and B/N cars to go to him with.

I don’t think anyone has a problem with Dan.

Didn’t say they did, but the way everyone gets attacked around here it’s getting old.

Site is turning into drama fest 2010.

I don’t think it was for him specifically… More because John’s OP said “I don’t want this to turn into a redline vs the world” and it did.

Site has been drama fest since it opened

defending Redline on here consists of telling person A how badly they will get there ass kicked by Redline goon squad member X.

case in point…

yes he had threatened me by saing how badly he was going to punish my face or what have you.

now we got Joeyc6 on here telling us how tough Tanner is and u better not make him mad because if u do the world starts to rotate in reverse! WTF??? people are really this dumb.

Guys it was nice to meet you and thanks for the few who sent me PM’s. I do not understand why this thread has now become a mess with other links and personal attacks. It is a shame.
Dan
