Well the Japanese get the coolest things first again. Nissan today introduced the new 12th generation Skyline today in Japan. The new Nissan Skyline 3.5 liter V6 version pushes 315 horsepower and 36.5kgm of torque while the 2.5 liter V6 version pushes 225 horsepower with 26.8kgm of torque. Drivers will have the choice of a five-speed automatic with adaptive shift control. There will also be a new DS mode that allows optimized gear selection for different driving conditions. And the Japanese have also picked up on the paddle shifting so the new sportier Nissan Skyline, SP and P, feature steering mounted shift paddles that allow the driver to operate in manual mode.
Design? Well just check out the images. The car will start selling at 2,793,000 yen to 3,801,000 yen. Nissan is hoping to sell at least 1,000 Nissan Skylines a month. Which we think they’ll definitely beat. Oh yeah, it looks like the new Infiniti G35 with a little bit of M. Just thought we’d add that.
i dont think thats the skyline… i read another article with a completly different looking car… if i had the link I would be posting it up… but they made the rear end practicaly look the same and not a g35 style
No longer the proto. The proto had different rims, different side mirrors and other minor things. This is the actual production “GTR” that was posted. The JDM G35 is the Skyline. Pics above are of the actual GTR. I have a video of the road testing itself along with the new Porsche. Also here is the commerical as they car is ready to be released next year in Japan.
yes… those pics are the real skyline coming out… the g35 body style ive never of yet… but as far as a lot of us know those pics and this link that was posted is the new skyline coming out…
Noodleman thats the 08 G35 coupe or Base model JDM Skyline…Not GTR…As said above people are mistaking the Skyline with the GTR…They are 2 different cars now…Skyline is just a car, GTR is the performance that is different all together.
I was responding to dubv’s post about the next gen “skyline gtr”, and showing the coupe so people can tell the difference between the skyline and the GT-R.
2007 Nissan Skyline GT-R
The 2007 Nissan Skyline GT-R will finally make its way to the united states. Nissan fans have been waiting years for this to happen. The 2007 Nissan Skyline could quite possibly carry the Infiniti name in the states, but it may end up being called the Skyline in America as well. Their concept was simply called the GT-R Concept - so they are leaving it up to the imagination at this point.
No official specifications have been released on the 2007 Nissan Skyline GT-R, but in wouldn’t be a skyline if it wasn’t all-wheel-drive and turbocharged would it? From the Skyline’s history, one can assume that it will be an AWD platform in Turbocharged fashion.
It is being speculated that the 2007 Nissan Skyline GT-R will end up either looking similar to the Nissan 350Z, or the Infiniti G35.
The 2007 Skyline will have the same engine in all markets. While the specifics on the engine are still unconfirmed, it is believed that Nissan is using a 3.7L V6 Twin Turbo motor, starting out at 450 horsepower.
The R35 skyline GT-R: …we won’t know until it comes out…
