That’s what I’ve been hearing…

if its a single disk it will be easy. Multi-disks are the pain.

I was torn between sprung and unsprung. Everyone said (on honda-tech anyways) that you’ll probably lose one of those spring, but the less harsh engagement seemed to make it worth the slight risk. That’s what I gathered from reading hours of posts, lol. I went sprung as well, but a different manufacturer. What’s the tq rating on this? Also does this one give the percentage of pedal increase?

Still have stock half shafts?

As long as you preload your drivetrain before hard launches you won’t have many problems…if that’s what you’re eluding to.

obviously there will be a difference between a V8 and a 4banger but driving an unsprung clutch is easy as hell.

A few honda guys have said it’s pretty harsh engagement, lots of chatter, etc etc. I think it boils down to personal preference. I think one of the RX7 guys on here said he had an unsprung and it sucked balls…

nice chris… thought u wanted to get rid of the slobalt?

Aww, I was hopin to see a smaller pulley, or a 2 pass IC.

Well, after the Mitsubishi dealer said I needed $5800 down to get a $550 a month payment on an EVO IX I decided against it, seeing how I don’t really want a payment that high. Ya, Im still on the stock driveshafts at the moment, the only ones available are $800(driveshaft shop level 2) As far as the dual pass IC, I don’t really need it at the current time. As long as Im not running anything smaller than a 2.8 pulley It doesn’t make THAT much heat.Ratings on this clutch are in tq for some reason. 425ft-lbs for circuit track and 320ft-lbs for drag race/street drag. It’s the same clutch that the time attack cobalt uses…

:pimp:

looking forword to seeing how that clutch dose. The spec in newera cobalt is a bit harsh.

the stock HE is a 2pass.

unsprung in the rx7 was garbage…it was nice for racing but annoying to drive on the street. everyones definition of “streetable” is gonna be different… did i drive the unsprung on the street yea, did i like it no lol

I had a twin disk unsprung…it was like an on/off switch…it was ok around town…but trying to start on a hill…EVIL

unsprung iron disk. “extreme drag race use only.” cake.

the cobra is unsprung, you should feel how heavy it is! with the DFX its an on/off switch, takes a while to get used to it, but i don’t mind it at all :gotme:

im pretty sure i may take the cake for the most unstreetable clutch
