no pics like darkstat…i am disapointed
You can get to 195hp with junkyard parts (or remanufactured parts, or if your lucky enough left over parts that were never used) Using a 086 head, ho cams, ho intake and exhuast manifold people have dynoed 158-161hp at the wheels.
i just like busting your balls about the wing :blue:
2.3 are junk… wonder why they got rid of them… and 2.4 has more problems then 2200… get a life :finger:
cavy performance talk
that’s oxtmoronic… like V6 camaros…
explain.
I dont seem to recall a turboed 2200 making 316hp at the wheels on 12.5psi.

or even a 2200 with 396 whp and 385 tq on 19psi.
I wonder how these junk 2.3 make that much power without braking :eek4:
GM 4 bangers are all junk
The only reliable GM four bangers (pre-ECOTEC) are the ones made by Toyota…

:madfawk:
What?
U asked why they didn’t make that much power… i have seen a 2.2 ohv cav turbo get 225 at the wheels that it…
well there you go, then how can the 2.4 and 2.3 be junk if they make more power stock and modded? And im not trying to be a dick or anything, you just stated that these motors were junk but with little to support it.
2.3 had problems holding up to the HP… and 2.4 have problems with water pumps, gaskets… and I think like 3 other things…
nice warm air intake
good luck in shows with the parts!
I don’t know if thats a jab or an actual comment
Anyways Grandamld9
Basically you are talking all Bolt on crap. Yes if you would go bolt on for bolt on the 2.4 will produce more. BUt if you start screwing with internals and changing specs the 2200 can hang just as well.
Again in all thos links you only know about the motor that came in your grandam. Try reading J-body some time and there are more people pissing with the 2200 now due to the lesser problems then the 2.4 and companies are starting to take notice. Like RSM, Howell Perfomance, Haun, and dso forth. Just because all you know or read about is the 2.4 on your grand am boards or your N-body forums doesn;t mean its superior.
I don;t know dick about an LS1 and I;m not on boards like LS1 Tech and so forth so I don;t pretend to know about the motors.

These are all guys currently on there pissing with only the 2200 and proving it can be built and they are part of the reason companies are staring to make the parts. SOme of these guys are in to 13 sec or lower. I believe Scruf had a 2.2 that ran a 12.6 NA.
anything can be fast if you have the time, money, and knowledge
Great lookin stuff, good luck mike
