nice vid, i know you got the skill to drop in an lsd you can pick up a quaife for 500 easy
118
I already have a spare trans with a quaife in it. I am probably going to wait until I blow this one up though.
LSD sounds like a must…Also, are you getting the slicks to smoke real good before you get to the line? I typically do a mean 2nd gear burnout until the car starts pulling foward with the e-brake on. Get to the line, then it’s nothing but traction. Had no prob cutting 1.7’s on a small slick.
I was trying that, but I kept getting scared and letting out early. It feels weird to sit there and roast the tires, I just have to train myself that its OK to do. Next time I go, I think I’ll be alright.
It will be easier on the car and my mind once I get the quaife in, I agree there!

Big burn out isnt always key. I and a few other guys have cut better 60s on small burn outs rather then big ones. But i guess it all depends on car drive track million things. Just try different things till you get something that works.
Yup, we are going to video all the runs next time, but I was not heating them up enough, and bogging, so that will be the first place to start next time.
When is the next time you are going to the track?? I would love to get my car on vid ive never seen it go down the track on slicks im really interested in how it looks out of the hole. If you dont mind spending to camera time on me lol.
I have to do a few more things before I am good again. I was going to go Friday, but I think I am going to wait until next week, Wednesday or Friday. Does that work for you? I’d love to see your car too.
I was thinking of going today but my car also needs a little work umm yea wednesday or friday work for me i work til 6 so i usually wouldn’t be out there till about 7-730 but that still leaves me a few hours to race. But yea just shoot me a pm or something when you know you’re going out there.

With the torque youre making (I am guessing 350-400 ft lbs based on trap speed?) and no lsd you want to make sure that you have plenty of heat in your tires. 26s might be a little too big for the power you are at but you have to work with what you have. Ebrake all the way up rev up in second dump it and feather the throttle until you see smoke. What tire pressures are you running? You should be in the single digits. You also want to make sure that your alignment is in order. Ideally you want to run just a little negative camber so at the launch when the front comes up and lifts your wheels you have as close to 100% contact patch as possible. A good alignment can make a difference not only in your 60 but all the way down the track. If youre getting wheel hop invest in traction bars if they are available for your car. And of course a quaife if you have the money.
In the vid it looks like youre riding the clutch a bit at the launch. Try launching higher and dumping it with a pre load. With a good burnout you should hook and go without bogging. Just be ready to bang second and dont break anything.
Looks like the car moves pretty good.
mickey thompsons dont seem to need to be really heated up screaming hot every pass, but it seems like M&H’s do, at least the non-DOT slicks… i think yours might be a different compound so idk. Playing around with tire pressures might help also
No wheel hop, no torque steer at all. And I am not riding the clutch at all, it is dumping it, I was just dumping it too low, and it was bogging a little bit.
I have a spare 04 trans with a quaife in it, but I am waiting until I grenade this one, or until I get sick of one wheel peels, before i swap that over.

I used to run 26" mickey’s too. Best 60’ times for me were mid 1.7’s, dumping the clutch at 5K. That was using 14psi in the tires when they were cold. It’s a little on the high side but I was unsure how the stock axles would take it, and would’ve been an expensive tow from the track.
yeah I’ve ran 11’s at 117 so I’m sure you’ll get there:tup:
holy **** real deal!
yeah i’m divorced now…lol so i’ll be able to get back in the loop hahha
woaaaaa, welcome back dude. lol
