For my wife’s daily, a 07 honda pilot. Gets used for her driving back and forth to Albany, plus we tow our boat (around 2750 lbs) and will be towing a travel trailer (Under 4000lbs) often in the summer. Needs to be a tire that kicks ass in the wet and is good in the snow, yet doesnt howl going down the highway and can be expected to last 50k+ plus miles (I know, im asking a lot). dc2nick at mavis suggests the coopers, but I think they’re a little more aggressive that what we need. Here are the three that i can’t choose between, they all have good reviews.
Yokos are real soft, if thats what youre looking for. I really like the softer compound tires. Sure they wear out faster, but I like how they feel more.
goodyear fortera hl…had those on my pathfinder quite a few years back, wore alil bit quickly…but road noise was next to nothing, wet/dry traction was superb…even had them in the mud and they did well. i used to tow allll sorts of shit with that poor truck and those tires were great. the ones without the “silent armor” are discontinued but can be found and can be found cheap.
