It seams that there are more and more people just signing up and posting BS here. Some recent FS threads for example. Shouldnt there be a 7 day period where a newcomer should be allowed to post in certain threads. After the 7 days they can post new threads but, after 100 posts on the board you then can post FS threads.
That way you can get some kind of background on a person or something like that.
most other forums have a certain post minimum before you can post in classifieds…it has its ups and downs I guess
All the sucessful forums I’m on do this except this site, it filters out the shit for sure.

i think the whole certain posts before you can post is a bit of a shitty kinda thing
for example on my evo forum you need 50 posts to post in classifieds
what people do is shit up other threads that could use valid information and is full of things like “cool” or “sweet” or “i like your car” just to make post counts…
There should at least be a 10 post limit…50 seems a little much, but this is a general forum that is unspecific to car makes and models so maybe 25-30?
Meh, I don’t want a bunch of bullshit posts just to raise post count so someone can come sell a car. I’d rather have it the way it is and just have the thread get deleted if it sucks like that “corolla supra” thread. Or at least locked until it gets cleaned up and coherent. I’d hate to miss out on a good deal in classifieds because we need a minimum post count.

And it’s not like when I was a noob, because you got some pretty tasty contributions from that. These kids just down right fucking suck. They have nothing to offer. They aren’t even funny and everyone feels the need to pick on them and then apologize for it.

What it comes down to is the fact that we need more regulation of new users, anyone can join and instantly start posting shit in OT and classifieds.

At least then we can narrow down their activity and filter out the weeds.
