Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

saw this project last week… looks sick i cant wait to see how more lights hit that paint color

titties.:ohyeah:

giggity giggity

isn’t the best pic, but it rules.

Done in this color: plenum, rocker covers (shown), and timing covers.

Done in black: center spark plug cover, lifting bracket, alternator bracket. I will probably just sraypaint the pulleys black because i’m worried about belt slippage and PC thickness.

Haha I love how this car is going to a plethora of colors, it’s going to look so bad ass lol.

This has already came a long way since I saw it a few weeks ago, good job man!

Awesome.

those turned out really nice, i bought my axles used too and didnt think of this, thats why you make the big bucks =D

edit: how the fAWq were 4 skyline axles cheaper than two neon alxes =p

probably because they are not skyline axles…

Pretty sure those look like e30 axles.

I just love the plethora of colors that this car is gonna be made up of.

Can’t wait to see the finished product.

i cant really tell by looking at them :meh:, still pretty cheap, i didnt know there were interchangeable parts, but then again, i havent completely kept up on the build

Newman you should consider this habanero pepper momo steering wheel

The rear diff and all suspension parts are original to the car.

There is no need to change those parts out. A custom driveshaft will mate the RB trans to the BMW rear diff.

^^^ what he said

Thanks for covering that.

wiat a second… you’re keeping the awd?

lol.

Drew this up, will probably machine it on my lunch break…

ughhh, make me one too for the bimmer?

Fuel rail fail

once you start to machine it, it will heat up and start the gas on fire DUH.

Yah I need that minus two ports (2) units. lol

I wish we had a machine shop here. :frowning:

How would you drill a .70" hole ~22" deep? Even if you go half way on 2 ops it is still 11" LOC. What are you using? I am not a noob to CNC machining but this has me curious. Are you using Wire EDM or something else?

My experience where I am (Limited to 3-Axis Fanucs) we can’t even touch an 11 inch depth and I am pretty sure even if we had the travel any tooling would snap. At 11 inches that is 16 diameters deep. This is above me. Cool though.

boring bar?
