Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

that looks perfect. can someone dig up a part number? Price perhaps? He said it was only 125?

Can’t find one off-hand they appear to be going for $90-$150 used. Apparently quite a few GM Vans also use the same setup. However this might pose a problem I just remembered you are not installing power steering. Hydroboosters are usually driven off the high-pressure line of the PS pump from the sounds of which you don’t have in place.

Might possibly want to look into some older non-power assisted brake setups however I’d be a bit iffy on that route given the amount of power the car will have in this application even if it is lighter.

Guess I’m late coming to this party. It’s projects like this that make my time-wasting time here worthwhile. Access to a quality machine shop doesn’t hurt - love the milled parts.

This should be a fire-breather when it’s done.

Don and Newman I dont know if you have this already but here is a link to get the FSM for R32s…which includes wiring diagrams if needed

thanks. i’ve had that for about 3 years though. i printed it out at UB when i could still print things out there. finally getting something for all dem fees!

yeah. i thought there was some big ass mechanical solenoid in there or something. it won’t work with our setup. gah, should have known since it was called “hydro boost”. we’ll come up with something. i’m sure of it.

You might want to look into a manual brake setup off an older car. Seeing as what you have will be a good deal lighter than what they were used on in their time it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Yea I printed mine out at work…i mean home…just thought i would share incase u didnt have it

Than you get a suicide line off of older cars, most cars went to power and lost the suicide line in one movement

A couple of the ford mod motors were using those brake boosters…

That might help. Pedal assembly meant for mounting the master cylinder under the dash, not sure on the price though.

nice!
