Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

I hope you weren’t going for the sneaky look.

i hope to have this fucker cut tonight… what’s the best thing to use to cut these with. i’f used a cutoff wheel and reciprocating saw in the past. Is there something better?

Cutoff wheel at really low speed should leave the best edge.

What about one of those DIY melting wires? A wire that is heated up and can easily pass through plastic and what not. I know Ive seen it done before but I dont have any links.

YEAH I WAS THINKING A HOTKNIFE OR SOMETHING…

Dremel works fine, you just have to take your time with it.

X…

LOL. A DREMEL IS A TOOL FOR CAR PEOPLE WHO DON’T HAVE REAL TOOLS.

and iirc you own the largest assortment of dremel bits and attachments of anyone i know. but rly, it was in ur moms basement

OMFG i love it!

EDIT:

i know the plate spot is off center…i used a slew of google images to get the rubstirp and signal lights and headlights, and all of them i had to skew and perspective. my bad lol

man i had an oil cooler on my S13 while it was being built. i ran the lines out through the front grilles and back behind my intercooler…

people were hating on it soo hard, and when it became apparent that the car wasnt going to see the light of day save for some miracle i actually took the whole oil cooler set up out of the car.

LOL

X…:gay:

i want this to be done already… the photoshop looks better than i was picturing…

your gonna go down the road, do a pull, a rock from a truck is gonna fly at it, smack it and put a huge hole through…

or i will gank it =)

i guess it looks kinda a little menute small bit better then it did in my head  lol

yeah, but it wasn’t for working on cars.

they’re useful, but rarely for car stuff…

it’s not really any less protected than any other front mount…

for cutting plastic i have also found that the cutoff wheel on a dremel or cutoff wheel without a shield works best… either that or an air reciprocating saw

You don’t know anything, if Newman says it doesn’t work, it must be so.

x…

ehh, bumper plastic is generally pretty thick, a cutoff tool will just be easier

this is what i’m trying to tell people.

anyway, dremels suck, but an air abrasive wheel does the trick.

nice looks good cant wait to see it out and about soon?
