 Newman
Newman, those wheels are so hot! I can’t wait to see the tires mounted and on the car even without a front end.
Luke, I believe both HRE and Braid (Spanish 3pc. wheel co http://www.braid.es/wheels/) have an option for hidden bolts that are only visible from the back like the Fikse’ are.
Also, worth twice as much as your car.
The last set I got priced out when they had their 25% off sale was $4300 before shipping.
mmmmm work vs. soooooo damn tasty. i want them soooo bad for my s14, but i am poor
Dif installed. That was a cocksucker.
why did it suck? just a pain to muscle into place?
lol, when i swapped the diff in my e30 i do not remember it sucking as bad as my e36. however they can be cocksuckers when they wanna be.
Car is coming together very nicely.
I swapped out the E36 diff at work in about ~3 hours total time.
I jacked it up, and pulled off the rear wheels and sway bar in about ~45 min.
Then started working on it again at 5. I had everything done, tools put back, and I showered and left work by 7.30pm. Couldn’t have been easier. I didn’t even pull the exhaust like everyone says you have to.
I laid under the car and pulled the diff by myself. I guess that is one advantage of being a 205lb fatty.
The diff might weigh 1/2 as much as Newman does though so doing by himself may have sucked.
fixed for truth. that woulda took you 2x as long and a case of beer after breaking every sway bar bolt and stripping off every axle bolt.
Truth. I didn’t bust or strip one bolt/nut. All the brass retainers were still shiny. There was a thin layer or road grim on some parts, but it was like working on a <1 year old car from Buffalo.
Me and my father put on my exhaust in a parking lot with only the stock jack in about 30 minutes. He said he hated me, and that he loved the M3. He couldn’t believe it was a 97 or an I6. LoL
Next on my list in my M50 manifold and either :snky: or a shark chip. Prolly :snky:
It just sucked because some of the holes didn’t line up. I had to ream them out. Maybe it’s because the M3 diff was from a newer car. Either way. It was annoying. Not hard, just annoying.
good info on the diff… I need to get to swapping mine into the E36 soon.
There are a few good diy on diff swaps just google it. What diffs r u swapping?
Just used contact cement to try and repair the headliner after it got blasted (and towed around at 80mph without a windshield)
It used to look really good. Now it’s acceptable at best. I’m not super concerned about it at this point. My goal right now is the driveline and exterior.
Picking the motor up from innovative tomorrow.
ILI
oh hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Also, tires are here, getting them mounted on lunch they are fucking huge and never going to fit. My measuring says they will, but i just don’t see it happening…
Haha peer pressure
Those are the rears, lol.
