Let me ask this (in the general spirit of the thread):
I just recieved the results of my blood draw from a couple of weeks ago:
Overall cholesterol: 155
Good cholesterol: 42
Bad cholesterol: 96
Pregnancy: Negative (phew)
Now, those are on the better side of the Perfect borderline… yet I’m technically 60lbs overweight… WTF?
i’m telling you, it’s by far the best of the 30 or so fitness books i have read over the last 5 years.
HGH is human growth hormone
it’s the stuff your body doesn’t make so much of when you get older… unless you train it to. you train similar to the way a sprinter would, or a receiver (football you fags).
cholesterol as a one time measurement is something i dont trust. i would take 3 monthly tests and compare them, each of them eating a normal diet before. the reason i dont trust them is because someone can eat healthy for a week, consume tons of water the night before and consume no fat the day/night before the test, and show dramitcally different results than if you eat like an idiot the night before ie macdonalds. the food stays in the system and one thing that is measured…lipids can be astronimoical…point is that you can be real healthy and what you ate the day before could screw up your one test. and if you only go by that one test you either feel real good about your effort you are putting in, or feel terrible about how you live your life and decide you may as well throw the towel in to existence and just bang a prostitute with warts on her labia.
i think with “losing weight” there has to be a constant way to measure your progress. imo the worst way to do it is by weighing yourself. water weight when someone starts wrking out can fluctuate like crazy. i know i curently fluctuate 8 pounds a day. same thing with blood tests, you have to take it all with a grain of salt.
also about the eating late thing…if you eat lateR (emphasis on the r cuz i dont mean midnight, i mean 30-45 min after your personal cut off time) imo it is bette to have a protien based food than a fat or carb food. if there are muscle fibers that need to be repaired, the protien will be chosen first by the body during your rest phase. while the carbs will not totally be used for that (cuz thats not what they do) and they will turn into simple sugars----->and eventually fat if they arent burned.
disclaimer: i am not saying dont eat any carbs, and i am also not saying to go out and try and get gential warts from sluts…just settle for getting head and you will be wart free
but this is also something that can/will change based on type/if/how much you ate/drank and how recently it was. i find that getting up, taking a piss and then taking a measurement gives me accurate/repeatable results.
edit: another thing i thought of after reading joes post. as for what you burn when, and blood sugar. on average (average… let me say it again, average) it takes 20 min for your body to use up the easy to burn the sugar in your blood and whats stored in the muscles. thats if you are working out pretty hard. anything after that your body will move to a different fuel depending on how hard you are working. 65% max heart rate, it will use fat. 75% and above and it will start using up muscle.
one more reason the Sprint 8 program is the best cardio program you can do.
I eat whatever I want, when I want. Its awesome, but eventually I my metabolism will slow down, and my eating habits will be the same, and I will be fat.
Im trying to get to 200 flat, but gaining weight is hard
although 200 is probably a more realistic goal (your gonna shed so much fat your bound to lose a lot of weight initially. then you can start packing on more muscle and gaining).
if you do get jacked though…no tight polo’s please
