Kotalik has 32 points this year, and is on the last year of his deal. Moore has 41 and is on the last year of his deal. Kotalik makes $2.5 million if i remember correctly. Moore makes 700k and plays good defense.

That’s the way I look at it, Other than Kotalik’s shot I will not miss his “I am too afraid to hit people so i will go out of my way to avoid it” mentality.

Oh boy a good shooter with 13 goals…
Did I say goal scorer?..didnt think so. He had by far, one of the best, if not the best, shot on our team and won a ton of important shoot outs for us. He has been a pussy and not hitting lately and at times lazy, but he is still a good player.
They should at least snagged a guy they plan on keeping for a while if they were moving kotalik. I will be suprised as hell if they resign moore and give him the money he wants to stay. My guess is he will be gone come deadline and they will bring up another pirate and assume he will take kotaliks spot.
Kotalik would have been gone come offseason anyways, so we got rid of a lazy guy with a good shot for someone who is supposed to be a better 2 way player, and scores just as much as Kotalik. The new guy can also win faceoffs for us which has been a problem all year imo

I’d expect us to try to keep Moore if he meshes with the team, he’s two years tounger than Kotalik and shouldn’t be terribly expensive

there’s other things involved in being a good player, kotalik possesses none of them. cept he has a gifted shot, o yea, to win a shootout you do have to make some saves you know? and score more than 1 goal…
and he has ALWAYS been lazy and a pussy. just stepping up recently for the first time, like every player on the trading block in early march
WTF is wrong with some of you…They werent going to re-sign Kotalik anyway so they got rid of him for someone that they feel can help them make it to the playoffs.
In essence Kotalik was a “rented” player for the rest of the season no matter what.

I personally like the idea of Moore on the team instead of Kotalik. The dude can be thrown into EVERY situation and can win faceoffs. Kotalik was a beast in the shootout and ummm…uhhh…that’s about it. For someone with such a great shot, he should have used it more.
