ok well I want to get the 180SX, but it seems rare to be able to import one stock, but skylines are out there and there are quite a few, and cheaper. I’m not a hugh mechanical person, but i was going to learn as I go with fixing and such, might take an apprenticeship this summer. But anyways, which would be the easier and cheaper car yet get most benefit out of? Which is better, the RB20DET in the skyline or the SR20DET in the 180SX? which is easier to get parts for and maintain?
It is just as easy to find a stock 180SX. I would go with a 180SX because they are more rare than a Skyline (you see one around every corner these days!), and there are lots of knowledgeable folks on the site here who can help you with mechanical work on them.
If you get in a fender bender with your Skyline, where do you get parts?
With a 180SX, at least you have something around here to grab parts from.
Considering you said RB20, your prolly looking at a GTS-T. IMO its GTR or bust when it comes to Skylines. Its either gotta be the full powerhouse, or nothing.
On that note, Id take the 180sx since youd have available parts if anything happens, where as with the Skyline as stated above youd end up SOL for quite awhile.
Im also a pretty big fan of the Fairlady’s if you haven’t checked them out yet. Very Sharp lines on that car, just beautiful.
I dont get what everyones issue is with the gts-t type M skylines. They come stock with nicer seats, way better brakes, 5 lug, and they will keep up to a stock 180 no problem. Everyone acts like they are these slow piles of crap…just as potent as a silvia or 180 imo.
they arent slow …they are just “generic”
when in Japan I saw soo many stock r32 and r33 gts-t … nobody brings in anything but “Stock” cars …wow exciting

Where did oyu import them from? I check the auction house and I see like 1991’s (The one i’m looking for for the SR20DET) that are like modified or damaged.
