He hasn’t gotten a ticket with it, so who gives a fuck? I’ve had front plates on all of my cars except my Talon. Even my G35 had one. My next car won’t have one for sure, but I’ll still keep it in the car. Cops tend to be a lot more lenient when you admit to them that you don’t like the way it looks on the car, yet you still have the plate in your possession. One of the reasons cops get mad when you don’t have a front plate is because there’s a possibility that someone out there is using your plate on a different car… They like knowing you still have both plates. If they see it in your window, they’re just creating revenue.

dude, stop your madness. your front plate is 100% illegal. It’s altered, hard to see and WAY too close to the ground. Just cause some cops say it’s fine doesn’t mean it’s legal, it just means they aren’t huge dicks and willing to pull your over cause of it. I passed a cop the other day going 2mph over the speed limit, he didn’t pull me over, does that mean it’s legal?
That said, I’ll be going on 5 years without a front plate on the evo and I’ve never gotten a ticket. Did get pulled over once, but just showed him the plate in the back seat and he let me off.

I’ve gotten pulled over a few times with the Z and they walk around the car and and dont even mention the front plate. I tell the few that have said something about it that I don’t have a front bracket for it and it looks silly, most of the time there pretty cool, and I dont even have to mention my father, but I had one that was like “Did you get 2 plates when you registered it” I was like yeah “hes like well then it belongs on the car” that was the cop that wrote me 5 tickets, I posted this a while back…
I’ve had 1 cop pull me over just for not noticeing the front plate it was a rotterdam cop, I knew him, he dident realize the Z was my fathers old car, said it was great to see it back on the road, and said he remembers there being a front plate on it back in the day.
Most of the local PD know both my cars and don’t even bother pulling me over anymore.
and your more likely to get pulled over with the licence plate in the front window than no front licence plate at all… most cops are cool about it, unless your driving like a dick
Yeah it happens. I got pulled over for it once before and didn’t get anything and I was speeding that time. He gave me a warning for both.
This time the guy just gave me a ticket for the plate and not my inspection (which I finally just passed).
The key is to be nice to them and be honest. They typically return the favor (at least in the run-ins I’ve had…and I’ve had many including a high speed chase).
