Too bad I never listed an S13 as a car deserving of respect?
I do think an FC is a nicer car than an S13. The reason why I don’t have one is b/c I think they’re butt ugly and get nightmarishly horrible fuel economy.
I’m pretty impressed by my friend’s FC. He paid a little bit more than what I paid for my car, and he’s got a turbo, 50/50 weight distribution, 4 pot calipers, 5 lug, etc… Right now, with the amount that I paid for my 4 pots and 5 lug, my car is costing me more than his FC, and he’s turbo I’m not. If we’re gonna be reasonable and sensible about things, his car is way better, in every aspect. But 99.999% of the time people are NOT reasonable and sensible about things, and I think my car looks a million times better than his. I look at his car, and I respect it, but I look at my car and I LOVE it. To ME, that’s the difference between an FC and an S13.
Then you move up to FD and you get all those benefits of the FC in what is possibly the hottest looking car ever made. Win win? Yeah, I think so
oh, and plz let’s not get into an argument on which car looks better, that’s purely on a personal preference level and cannot be argued objectively.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and as a once RWD fanboy who grew up with parents who owned about 40 Hondas during my lifetime(including 2 NSXs, a Honda Beat{yep thats right} and an ITR) I always tried to reconcile my love for both of them.
Now that I am no longer a fanboy, and just love sporty cars, and subsequently have a more open mind, I realized that even the crappiest Honda Civic has something special about it. It may be slower than walking pace, and be rusty as fuck, but the whole double wishbone suspension setup really does have a different feel to most other cars. It feels fun, maybe even sporty, and I cant say that about a Sentra(minus the SER).
I think ultimately what makes Honda great is that everyone who works there, from the engineers who made Ayrton Senna’s MP4/4, to the janitor who used to clean my dads old office at the Honda office in Scarborough, to the accountants to the President himself are all bat-shit crazy about cars. I cant verify that everybodys a car nut, but Ive met enough people who have worked for that organization in my lifetime to see that everybody has some passion for cars in one capacity or another. And even though they make econoboxes for the masses, they do inject some of that passion into them.
Honda=Japanese BMW-Engineering focused company, amazing powerplants and suspension
Nissan=Japanese VW well engineered, a bit lacking in the “soul” department, but will come out with some brilliant products
Mazda=Japanese Alfa Romeo-By the enthusiast, for the enthusiast. Drives great…when it starts
I know this post has turned into a kind of novel, but I’m rather high and feeling poetic, so take it for what its worth.
ur vtec outruns a boosted sr ??? thats quite interesting… ur engine must not be stock… and also 1 other thing if nissan sucks sooo much, then why are you on this forum ???

why do I dislike Honda’s…
because of teh countless examples modified with a complete lack of taste in mind…
why do I like Honda’s…
excellent build quality, ( father 1998 V6 Accord Coupe 440+++km), reliable out the ass, and good resale value…
Sure, Black NSX are teh SHII----IIT, S2K, beautiful but meh, I love to drive in 6000rpm+ powerband,
PAVEL: 200Hp 1.8L Honda motor you speak of, was made what 8-9 years after a KA24 was released…theres your #'s. Motor development has came a little ways in the last decade…
I still stand by my statement… i.e. Hondas are fine for what they are made for… but they are not cars to be modified and taken to the track, auto-x or whatever… they were never meant to be. However, if you have the money, you could invest into a civic or whatever and make it a track car… if you really want to…
like I said, I have a civic and I love it for being reliable and basically having no major problems in the past 11 years that we’ve had it… and it is daily driven…
Honda’s are decent cars, I just got a 1992 Black Acura NSX Hardtop and its no slouch at all, 3 liter v6 with 280hp, in third im doing 200 kmh and its one of the better looking cars out there, no matter where I go everyone looks. The car is better looking than my s13 will ever be. Some Honda’s out there are pretty quick, especially when they can keep up with my nsx. Just because its fwd doesnt mean they’re slow and ugly.

Buddy, ITR’s are faster than JDM s14’s stock for stock, that’s why my can can outrun most STOCK boost sr’s. and the engine is stock (260hp type-s) - mind you, the car is still wood.
I am on this forum because over the last 3 years, have owned 3 240s, 2 of which were very nicely built. Nissan is one of the best cars to have fun in and i find that 240s have the best driver’s position. I love the SR (hence why I’ve owned 2), but I still stand by my statement saying that Honda engines ARE better than Nissan engines. Now what’s your excuse for being on the forum and only making 3 posts in your life?
The NSX is a beautiful car, but it’s still not fast, the best time they have ever run was a 13.2 - in a stock form. I remember racing one in my 240… tee hee.
I think NSX with a comptech supercharger would be incredible, and it definitelly looks like a supercar.
oh well the looks make up for its power, off the line it isnt very fast but on the highway it beats cars it shouldnt beat, not to mention its handling and braking is superb! I only wish it was a targa oh well its lighter and faster than a targa
But that’s just the same as any Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, BMW, Chevy etc. Aside from Scion, I don’t think many manufacturers design their cars to be modified, although some are more “down” with it then others. As well, some of the better AutoX/track cars are Hondas.
Has Nissan ever been involved in F1?
dvtsr, congrats on the NSX…I’d buy one too if I had 50Gs laying around…
After I sold my Honda Civic SIR I had my heart set on getting an S14 but the lack of local ability and the demand for these vehicles made it harder for me to find a clean vehicle and one that was reasonably priced.
Due to financial and storage constraints my dreams of building a S14 /w SR20DET will probably never materialize… and with the time and costs to do such a project… I might as well give it a few years and pickup a 350Z and build on that
I’ve always hated honda’s, but now all my friends have a civic and they can be fuking fast.
My buddy has a stripped 97 EF hatch with a stock JDM GSR engine on nos and nothing can touch him all most!!
Last weekend he raced two mustangs that had every upgrade except a supercharger and smoked them both by 2 1/2 car lengths all motor with no nos and the mustangs jumped him!
Also his car just has coilovers and the car oversteers more then mine by alot.
Honda’s can be a joke with the all the ricers but when you build it right they can be fast as hell in quarter just ask Cal he got pwnowed by my buddy too.
Newer generation Honda motors, from what ive seen, are flawless. Moms accord V6 has 160000 km, and is still running like we just took it off the lot. Tranny on those motors is garbage, mind you. Who makes 300 HP from a factory NA 3.5 litre V6? Nissan comes close, but the new RL is amazing. Ive heard from people that have driven them. All they say is that it is so smooth, and the AWD system is outstanding.
Another reason is that EVERYONE does up their civics, I mean EVERYONE, its just overdone, around here theres only one 240 that I see driving around, civics are everywhere here.
Now I’m not saying that they are slow and unreliable or anything like that, but they are unoriginal and boring and it takes losts of $ to make them stand out from the rest of “Civic Nation”
