Ford to begin monitoring potty breaks at Wayne Plant

According to the Detroit News, a memo was issued Tuesday at Ford’s Michigan truck plant in Wayne that stated too many of the plant’s 3,500 workers were spending more than their allotted 48 minutes per shift in the bathroom. Supervisors will begin monitoring the amount of time workers spend in the john and “respond appropriately”. Obviously the local union considers this a petty move by the automaker that doesn’t address real issues needing attention at the plant. The article quotes an industry consultant who nicely sums up the ingenious move by upper management: “Only someone from Harvard could think of something as stupid as monitoring bathroom time.”
i could easily spend 48 minutes on the pot at a time, nest in with a magazine. maxim or popular science would do the trick, have a little alone time to read about stuff, collect my thoughts, all while having my trousers around my ankles, can’t beat it.
I’d like to see that and a “slow walking” policy enacted at my plant. You could put a 6 month old baby on our floor and they could go end to end in the plant faster than the workers.
I’ve had the pleasure of having worked in a blue collar union shop and a white collar environment. It was a completely different world out there in “the shop”…one guy’s nickname was “shitbreak” and the other guy was “smokey”.
I’m so leftist I THINK in a Russian accent, and even I think the American auto union workers are criminals and destroying America’s ability to compete.
lol… often i agree with FISCAL conservatives… it’s those fucking so-called “christian conservative, family values” motherfuckers that I want to run down with a bus.
(Don’t tell anybody, but I was a moderate Republican until a few years ago. Bush beating McCain in the primaries was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me.)
i do believe that there needs to be something in place for workers to negotiate with employers, and to look out for the well-being of the workers, BUT the unions that we have now are not it.
yup… but let business owners do what they will and 5 years later we’d be facing a new industrial revolution. you can’t win dude, you just can’t win.
i was watching american psycho this week and in one scene he says he’s not human but displays human emotions, mainly disgust… disgust is a great term for how i view things now a days + :shaggy: eases the pain so i’m told :kekegay:
