Im just saying I saw a sig pic of a del sol that was absolutely huge and I know every other forum has a limit to how much text and how big of a pic you can put in your sig. I hate reading thru a thread and ending up reading someones life story everytime they post and I dont like having to scroll a page down to get past some huge pic that may or may not even be interesting to look at. A few lines with a list of your automotive inventory or time slips is one thing. Even a sliver of a pic that is somewhat interesting such as K20’s doesnt hurt but when you have a full portrait of your extended family every time you post its getting a litte out of hand. Bennyfizzle’s is a little big, but I have seen bigger. At least his is interesting to look at. GranMassaX, I understand you dont like the sig pics at all but for those who do I think we should have a limit to size and that should be a good compromise. Im not trying to call out anyone on there sig pic or anything I just think this is an issue that needs to be adressed.
I understand that we all like diff things and I’m not expecting vlad to eliminate sig pics cuz I don’t like them. I do agree with you 100% though and a size limit should be set. The limit shouldn’t be just for the pics, it should be the whole sig. That will eliminate people listing every mod they have, all their 1/4 mile times, track days, future mods, and shout outs… (thankfully I don’t think anyone on here does this currently)
There is already a limit on the amount of words or technically letters you can use. A sig code and link will use up most of the letter amount you can use so it dosn’t leave much for the rest.
As far as limiting the size, I’ve been sort of lurking around trying to figure out how to do just that :ninja
I don’t like seeing huge sig pics as much as the next guy, and they definitely clutter it up, but small sigs are fine, especially considering this is a forum, and each post is an expression of yourself. An avatar, your title along with the sig make up your “E-identity” and if somebody wants to express themselves with a sig that’s fine.
But like you guys have said, too much is too much, I’ll try to limit it.

Well as I found out, one of the software limitaions is that there is no automatic limitation on sigs. So as the old saying goes, if you want something done right, do it yourself or pay more to do it.
If you guys see something I don’t, like a huge sig pic, click “report to a mod” button, and I’ll go in and manually resize the picture of the sig, reupload it for the person and message saying them what happened.

I don’t know how to report a sig to a mod, but the member on here who mainly uses it to sell parts he has is “addikted2wips”, his sig is HUGE!!!

I oversteped my bounds on LS1Tech and they just deleted my sig and replaced it with a message saying
“You have received an infraction at LS1TECH.
Your sig was in violation and was removed.
The rule is:
Up to 8 single-spaced lines of text (no image)
-or-
An image no larger than 500w X 150h and up to 3 single-spaced lines of text”
No, I knew that was there…i just didn’t know if it would bring you to his sig. :ponder
well when you “report to moderator” you would just say “this dudes sig is way big” in the comments section.

really BIG forums like hond-tech and vwvortex do not allow sig pics because the forum is soooo big. for example, look at svtperforance or evom.net… they have sig pics buts no where near as big as vwvortex or honda-tech.

…and yes pete is right, big forums like H-T and VWVortex people don’t have sig pics, but they do put 1/4 mile times, power numbers etc.

off the top of my head conceptart.org and gfxartist.com don’t have sig banners.
conceptart has around 90k registered users and I have yet to see one with a banner.
text sigs are different, I could care less about them. but looking at the same stupid graffic at the bottom of every post is annoying as hell.
