noooooooo

At least Mazda isn’t failing:

^^good point…looks like in 5yrs some of us will be joining the GTR forums…instead of modding my s13 i’ll just save for the r34

soofft.

Im’a keep my S13 fo’eva.

Im also going to just convert the front end to an S15 once S15’s get popular.

Just so I can keep it fresh, and not hop on the bandwagon aswell

But back on topic,

I think your wrong sir. Personally, the way that I view it would be that Nissan would never give up the design. Maybe they may cancel progress on work, but there is no way that they would just scrap something that has been in the works for the last several years. They most likely have a small division of tech’s and engineer’s working on it, aswell as keeping it on the dl while the main division is focusing on the problems at hand, aswell as fuel efficent vehicles.

Look at Mazda, they cancled plans the RX-7, now what are they doing? Bringing that shit back from the dead.

The only thing that has me flustered would be the fact that the OP of the thread on the Mazda site claimed that “First came word that Subaru and Toyota were postponing the launch of their boxer-powered RWD coupe

Wut tha diddly?

^^ do you mean what is that about? There is a rumored Toyota/ Subaru car coming out…

^^ Yea, thats what im trying to say.

Did they partner up and make a new car? Or was it that they both have a RWD coupe coming out? :S

Man, when you put it that way… It sounds very motivating. haha.

supposedly they have come together to make the car, the boxer engine is the Subaru component obviously, I’m sure among other things. There is some info floating around.

^ who knows how good it’ll be, lol. The RX8 isn’t anything spectacular, and never caught on well at all, not to mention the so-so rotary engine.

It’s a good thing tho that Nissan didn’t cancel it, but suspended it just like the all new Honda NSX coming out, and little do people know they’re still testing it under low pro. Sooner or later, the S16 Silvia will be here!!

I have faith that Mazda won’t fuck up. The RX8, while not a great car, isn’t bad. The rotary engine kicks ass. It’s not a V8, but it’s a pretty cool engine.

I’m liking the idea of a new RX-7 mainly.

Its not practical for nissan to redesign and produce, a new affordable rwd sport compact. With the economy the way it is right now they’ll end up spending money that they wont get back, since this “affordable” car wont be so affordable for the people who would be interested. The demographic that is usually targeted is the hardest hit financially since they would lose their jobs as a result of seniority.

What many young men and women are doing are going back to school as opposed to working. There’s no way that they’ll be able to afford a new car even if its designed to be affordable.

If i were nissan, i’d say completely scrap the project wait half a decade, release a concept and go from there.

Just my 2 cents.

Toyota bought a portion of Subaru. In the process, some Subaru plant in the states was converted over to support additional production of the Camry.

The joint venture was really an exchange of info/technology. Toyota wanted to know more about Subaru’s AWD technology and Subaru wanted to know more about Toyota’s hybrid systems. They agreed and assets were also exchanged in the process.

^^That’s the jist of what I heard went down between the two. The rumoured RWD Toybaru is supposed to be a Toyota body with Subaru drivetrain and people were calling it the next 86. There was some hype last year about it but it’s certainly all dead now I think.

I’m pretty sure the Japanese supercar battle is put on hold (no lfa/supra, no nsx, etc.), as well as the SCC battle (no 86, silvia, etc.). It’s just the GT-R and Genesis out there to claim the markets right now I think…but I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe 1 car emerged out of no where some day.

But don’t count on it…Companies world-wide will not be anywhere close to where they were at in 2007 until 2012-13. Let’s just hope 2009’s rock bottom.

Also, my buddy showed me his new WRX the other day. When he unlocked the car with the keyless…guess what!? beep beep… yepp…the toyota beep beep!

Trippy since whenever I hear that Toyota beep I always see Camry or Corolla.

I’m going to get both. R34 and an S15…can’t lose that way.

so the newest year of car that can be inported from j-town is 1994? am i wrong any1?

what i want to know is, what make the first link posted a sivia/gtr coupe car? i looks noting like either of them. come on nissan, get with it or else you will be in the hole like the north american auto manufactures.

Its bad enough that they didnt go to the Detroit auto show, i hope they are at the toronto auto show.
