NOTICE TO WIVB-TV AND WNLO-TV VIEWERS

because TW humper Jabbu said so

And TWC is the fggt fucktard that has increased rates at the drop of a hat, dropped channels from line ups just so they can charge you extra for them, and don’t forget about their crappy internet service.

Their rates are just not nearly competitive as they should be with other providers. Why can dish and directv offer the same service at half the cost? That only means that TWC is also a greedy corporation.

TWC would also like to give away free antennas instead of adding a penny or two to your bill. How does that even make sense?

I’m sure they all do, but how much and when did/does THEIR contract expire is the key.

Crappy internet, even though people are moving to dish, there still keeping their crappy internet with TW.

Sat companies only own or lease like 10 satellites, and a few rebroadcast points around the states, whereas a head end setup and such that cable co’s use cost quite a bit per city.

TWC is fighting lintv over 11 markets, they’re paying pennies on the dollar for antennas, if they give in to ch4 i’m sure 6, 7 and 2 will follow, then are you going to be ok with that price hike just for these locals + the yearly hike? linTV ALONE wants 1/4 the cost of broadcast service. Do you think channel 4 is worth 1/4 the cost of 23 stations?

If this was a situation with just WNY and LINTV, at this critical point in time i think TW would of come into an agreement before sundays game, this is TW corporate vs lin tv, nothing WNY can do :frowning:

TW may lose alot of customers, but it’s still cheaper then paying 12 million, now the problem is if they lose a lot and still pay close to 12 million.

i had a new roof installed this summer. after waiting 10 days for dtv to line up my dish again, the service tech shows up. without even taking his ladder off his truck he tells me he has to see his supervisor and leaves. i never here from him again. after 5 days fighting with dtv to get someone out to my house, they tell me i have to make another appointment and wait to have my dish lined up again. bottom line is dtv has no phone contact with there sub contracter. i will never pay them a penny of my money. it was a shame i was a customer of more than 3 years.

Until FIOS is available in their area.

And you think putting a satellite into space is cheaper than running some cables - cables that were run about 30+ years ago and have since been paid off?

TWC has hiked the price every chance they get over the years. For standard cable tv, for which I consider to be 2-70ish, used to be $30/month when I first got it about 10 years ago. Now, the cheapest package is $70??? That’s more than double. But inflation hasn’t hit that hard. And if they cable company was that concerned with saving me money, they wouldn’t bother to include crap channels on that lineup that nobody watches, like nasatv, cspan, lifetime, etc.

TWC thinks they can get away with this, and they are just trying to make someone else look like the bad guy, when, infact, TWC was always the bad guy to begin with. I thought when TW bought Adelphia, that they were going to improve things, and the cost would go down a little. Boy was I wrong. It’s business as usual. Thanks TWC - if you asked me, I would have said “charge me 2 cents more and pay the man.” They could have given the customer the option of paying extra for the channel so that we had the choice. But TWC seems to know whats good for us. Thanks for sticking it to the man and lowering my bill…

TWC is not being unreasonable, LIN started the mud slinging paying unwarranted rate increases for retransmission rights is just bollocks and TW has every right to stand there ground.

Dish network or DirecTV would do the same if they felt they where getting the raw end of a deal.

You think we are still using the same cable laid 30 years ago?
Do i even have to question if you think the same equipment in the headend is the same? Hell cable didn’t have shit 30 years ago compared to today.

FIOS will be a savor for some, but I doubt they’ll get anywhere near the coverage TW has in WNY.

So what if cable has gone up, it also went from having 40 some stations to hundreds, internet, digital phone, movies on demand and just think of the amount of free porn it has brought you 100x faster then dialup.

Cable is a luxury, not a utility, if you want it, you sign up for it and pay monthly, noone is forcing you to.

dtv did something like this last year when lin refused to broadcast CBS in HD. Its all taken care of now, and my bill is not going up.

shit i have to pop a new bag

All I want is the 40 channels though, and TWC will not let me have it anymore. I don’t want digital, high def, internet, phone, movies or anything extra. I just want to watch a few shows, and that’s it. And the balls that TWC has to make it seem like they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Thats also the local tier for DTV…

LIN is included in everyone’s (TW) package, whether they watch it or not. LIN is wanting TW to pay a penny a day per sub per station. It would be a different story if LIN was on a package 1/4 of the subs watched i’m sure.

who started to make “sliced bread”

And who can you do that with?
Dish? DTV? Verizon? Comcast?

Who lets you pick and choose channels?

Im not paying more for channels I dont watch, I stand by TW’s decission on this.
I think it should be optional, if they end up making that agreement to pay.
They cant automatically charge the customers, make it a pay 2 view channel like speed.
Even at 50 cents a year, Half the customers wont pay it.

I believe he wants old school cable, either 2-29 or 2-72.
They use to have that without the box, now you have to rent the box ect ect.

lol

sounds like the bail out of 1943

You can’t make a local channel a pay per view setup, there are laws on how cable co’s can operate and charge, especially with locals.

You can get old school cable… 2-23 or 2-99 still, no box needed <shrug>

lmao

people were bitching about flour increases in those days
