As to why they only mention Dish and not Direct, its because for once Dish is actually spending money on advertising on the Buffalo market. They usually don’t. They paid to get mentioned, trust me!!
They also have several commercials airing on channel 4 and 23 and had a full page ad in last Sunday’s Buffalo News. They’ll take the customers that TW allows to be segregated.
You can say what you want about TW being mad about having to pay for something thats broadcasted for free anyway, but like the article mentioned, all the other providers pay to re-air it. Why shouldn’t TW??
What I’m curious about is how much those others are paying to rebroadcast and if TW is getting the screws put to them by LIN because TW has deep pockets.

i am personally using Dish network, and finally have high def locals, but with the bills season and the new csi’s and smallville starting id be pissed.
I’m waiting a week to see if they eat their pride and sign a new contract. I will be pissed if I can’t watch this weekends Bills game and MMA fight on my HD TV though.
Edit: I forgot to check this morning, is it off already? I would imagine that they will start losing a bunch of customers if it isn’t resolved in a couple days. I wish FIOS was available in Clarence! Anyone else have FIOS TV? How is it?

Fact:
Channel 4 wants a ton of money, they say less then a penny a day per sub, thats close to 30k a MONTH per 100k subs, for something that is free over the air.
Channel 4 will extend the deadline if they are smart, TWC brings them a ton of subscribers, it is stupid for them to go dark.
Eat their pride? They are trying to protect the consumers, you!
If channel 4 gets what they want, its only a matter of time til 2 and 7 do… And you think your rates will not change cause of that?

I am moving into a new place, so I am looking for my cheapest option to get what I want. I want a DVR, and a few basic stations, no HD, no extra crap, just NBC, CBS, ABC, TNT, USA, Discovery, History, Fox, Comedy Central, and maybe Spike. Anything more will probably not get watched all that much.
TW = $70+
Dish = $32
DirecTV = $38
And the girl at TW acted like I was getting the deal of a lifetime from them.
