You have an alarm, just no fob. So when you lock the car the light comes on for a few seconds then goes off. When the doors / hood / hatch are open, the light flashes.
Try rolling down the window, lock the car, then reach in and try to unlock and open the door. The horn sound and lights will flash.
Crutchfield came in super handy, after adding up everything I wanted, I’m looking at around $600 for parts, I’m going to stop by Daryl’s to see what they come up with.
Another great place is Car Audio on Transit in Clarence/Williamsville. The guy Chris is pretty knowledgeable.
Unfortunately I was on a budget and wanted the best bang for my dollar, so I found a pair of speakers on Ebay for about $70 cheaper than other places. Personally enjoying the Focal’s I went with but they are more of a 6 3/4 speaker which made the swap a little more of a pain in the ass having to custom make brackets for them.
I enjoyed reading car talk. +1
Just needs some 3MP camera phone pics
I had to make a DMV apt. and could not get one until early August. At least I don’t have to rush putting my truck back together for an impromptu camping trip to Allegany. Not that this was a DMV thread or anything.
I believe it’s a different Chris. This Chris just sold a Mustang and Bought a white Corvette. Might be a C6 that he just got. So I don’t believe they are the same.
Much needed upgrade. I don’t know what the engineers back in the 90s were thinking, but 300zx, 3000gt, supra, RX7 all had ugly IMO wheels from the factory.
Wheels and tires only 1300$ from fitment industries. 245/35R18
Stock suspension, wheel gap, height and stance stayed the same. I used a bunch of calculators to get the right size. So relieved I don’t have to drop 1500 on suspension.
I do not plan on lowering.
The car is noticeably slower, added 4 pounds to each corner. Handles much nicer though.
I was looking at some springs but I’d have to re-use the old shocks, I’d rather buy new but at that cost I may as well do coil overs for another 100$, then I’d need some control arms for the rear.
I’ll get around to it all eventually. One thing at a time.
Performance wise I have a few things I’d like to do, cause this is one of the slowest cars I’ve ever driven in my life.
My focus se is faster lol had my brother drive alongside of me.
I’ll have to do some research into what I’d need, I’m pretty sure I need a fuck ton done to the rear to lower it, @Onyx_Z32 besides coilovers what else will I need? I know a few things but I’d rather have an exact list.
edit - well you guys have twisted my arm into lowering this!
I must say this is the first time in years (like 8) that I’ve had something to wrench on, I can’t wait for the exhaust (hopefully this weekend it goes in).
