Got mine today at 345!
When I got there the computers were down with a line of 40 people, the guy at the front of the line had been waiting 3 hours, I’ll try again end of june, WTF
Which location did you go to? I have an appointment Friday late morning at Southgate Plaza.
Cheektowaga,
Just made two more appointments, 1pm downtown next week and 1pm cheektowaga two weeks from now
That blows man. I just picked up a new DD. Since it’s a new car my dealers registered it.
When I went to start the car yesterday the starter made a grinding sound, I smacked it with a hammer and it started
LoL I hope this isn’t the beginning of a god damn nightmare or else this bitch is getting LS swapped
I was at Southgate at 1115 and out the door at 1128. Never had such a streamlined experience at a DMV!
I clearly suck at picking DMVs, downtown Buffalo tomorrow, let’s see how it goes!
Got the car back from Licata’s, they did an awesome job in 48 hours turn around time for 30% less than everyone else, car runs great. Old belt was 10+ years old, all the stamping on the belt was worn off, glad I got it done.
Nice. Mean time my oil pan gasket leak has gotten worse so I haven’t driven it, lol.
Big job on these cars?? Next stop for me is Daryl’s Car Audio unless someone here does sound. I did my neon and truck but I don’t want to fuck with this car.
Haven’t needed to do it since I bought it, so I honestly don’t know. But it probably helps to have a lift.
I’ve done my own but it’s a little time consuming when doing it yourself. What exactly are you looking to do? Just upgrade the speakers and head unit or were you wanting to go as far as adding an amp for the speakers to have better and louder clarity to them?
Literally spent an entire day doing my S2000 with installing an amp and 2 speakers. Some custom work and a bunch of trips to the parts store because of needing select screws. (I didn’t buy a perfect fit replacement speaker)
The Z won’t be too hard to do. Rewiring is the most difficult part.
There are BOSE amplifiers somewhere in the car… I can’t remember where.
My biggest concern would be someone working on the car audio and cracking some super hard to find plastic trim part.
I’m probably going to do speakers but definitely a head unit, a sub and an amp. There’s also a light that flashes security but I don’t have a fob for an alarm and I have no idea what the security light means.
It’s honestly pretty easy to wired the car, just time consuming. Definitely get a nice kit for wiring, I went with the one listed below. Came with everything I needed to wire my S2000. There should be a wiring harness that you wire up to the head unit harness then it’s usually plug and play. (Very easy to wire the two together) You’ll want to get yourself a set of panel removal tools so you don’t break any of the plastic like Josh is saying. A car that old will be fragile and requiring care when removing panels.
If you are planning to amp your speakers, you’ll more than likely want to run new speaker wire. (Came in the kit I bought)
Kit as actually on sale by a fair amount, I paid about $90 for the same kit.
4 gauge wiring kit 4 channel.
You have inspired confidence in me. I will probably give this a shot.
If you’d like more info I can gladly help, just hard to type it all down. Really, it’s just time consuming.
This is probably what you are looking for. (didn’t look back to see the exact year of yours) However, half of this will probably be useless if you wire the speakers to an amp. (Instead of wiring the head unit wires for speakers to the harness, which goes to the wires that go to your speakers… you run RCA cables to the amp, speaker wire from the amp to speakers)
Big things to consider, run the speaker wire/RCA cables on the opposite side of the car than the power wire you send from the battery to the amp. If you don’t, this could create interference/static and not give you clear sound.
Crutchfield.com is a good source to find speakers that are plug and play with the speaker hole in the car.
