NY about to pass strictest gun laws in nation

NYS needs to learn how to turn off caps lock.

Def wasn’t cut & pasted…

Every aspect of this bill was a knee jerk reaction to a problem the politicians already know they can’t solve or stop…an individuals free will to do harm unto others. There’s nothing about this that will prevent anything like Sandy Hook or countless other tragic situations from recurring.

You can own a 10 round magazine but just promise is you won’t keep more than 7 bullets in them. Seriously?
Additional laws and penalties to perpetrators of gun related violence. Doesn’t matter to those who plan to off themselves anyway.
No internet ammo sales. That’s fuckin great. I just sent my first rounds through my new gun and because it’s an odd caliber, I probably won’t be able to buy the ammo locally which means it’s pretty much useless. (probably what the assholes wanted in the first place)
I can’t even bring myself to go into the other facets of this bullshit.

I fired my “assault weapons” numerous times over the weekend and had no intention of breaking laws or doing anyone harm, just the same as the other friendly people around me doing the same with their “assault weapons”. If you asked me who I’d want next to me when the shit hit the fan, it would be the “gun nuts” and not the friggin peace / love / no gun assholes who think because they don’t agree with how I live it’s their right to take my freedoms away from me.

In the very near future about all we’ll be able to do is go to work, watch Lawrence Welk reruns, and pay our exorbitant taxes on time to care for the lazy. No more guns, booze, drugs, R rated movies, video games, fast cars, loud paint colors, or anything else that might be construed as “enjoyable” because it will infringe on the rights of those who are opposed to it and thus be deemed as “dangerous” and then made illegal. I’ve considered leaving this state many times but family ties have held me here. This has seriously made me reconsider the volume and extent of family ties that have made me stay. If this scenario goes national, I don’t know what the hell I’d do.

same here I totally agree with you.

I picked up a few of these today: http://www.monstermangrip.com/ but it looks like they are already sold out.

From my reading of this new law this would remove an evil feature from the gun this meaning you wouldn’t have to register it? but there are a few parts I am still confused on.

NYS Police are supposed to start a web site explaining everything

They also mentioned they have this law setup so they can quickly ban any work out/loop hole stuff

I’m also pretty sure higher up in the bill it bans AR15s by name lol

That’s the part I’m still confused on, I thought similar wording was in the california ABW but those grips get around that

So how long till someone challenges this in court?

Hopefully in just a few days but I really don’t think it will help.

Are bulk online ammo sales banned in NY now? One of my fav sites just edited their disclaimer.

During the Senate discussions they mentioned being able to use a FFL for ammo.

They also mentioned they can’t stop anyone from going to PA/OH/Whatever state and bringing ammo back.

so what about an 8 round revolver? or for that matter a 10 round?

good thing I was able to complete a FFL purchase on an “assault” rifle at 5pm lol

WAITTTT… justin… ammo can’t be shipped to FL now?

Ammo must be transported to florida by UPS ground, it wasnt a problem over the past week here. (I looked cant find any legislation pending either)

I’m thinking it was a mistake on the site.

contact Cuomo and let him know what a piece of garbage he is-

You may also contact the Governor’s office by phone (518) 474-8390 or mail:

The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo

can someone make an accurate clifnote post of what exactly this bill imposes?

Ive heard you cant have more than one attachment on an ar15 now, ive heard you cant buy a gun from anywhere other than a dealer now, Ive heard you can buy one privately until the end of the year, ive heard you can get a gun from out of state and bring it back here, ive heard you cant do that, ive heard alot of shit and I want to know exactly what it entails without reading through pages upon pages of documents.

(II) A PISTOL GRIP THAT PROTRUDES CONSPICUOUSLY BENEATH THE ACTION OF
47 THE WEAPON;

So what if the grip is camo? Wouldn’t that make it inconspicuous thus legal?

Yup. What’s next.

FWIW: I’m no republican nor claim to be a fan of any party. In fact I’m not very “political” at all. IMO this is just a step in the wrong direction.

Last question I have. Can a civilian own an ar15 that was purchased last year that last two defining characteristics as long as uts registered? Or does that fall under the one characteristic law
