NY about to pass strictest gun laws in nation

How would any of this prevented sandy?

I’m out of this shit state asap, regardless if federal is similar.

Your dates/times are correct.

If you currently own a 10rd mag you have to load it with 7  all new purchases must have 7rd mags.

The ban on purchased all AWBs/whatever is effective immediately.

I would never leave NY over this specific item however it does add to a very long list of other reasons.

The other side of this is I would expect a complete ban on the registered ARs and other AWBs at some point in 5-10 years.

well i guess im a criminal then. In posession of a fully loaded 10 rd mag (oh the horror…) fantastic

yup. this is a perfect way for them to force us into creating a master list for them to come knocking on doors to revoke your registered weapons.

It’s pretty funny CT, NY, MD are all trying to push emergency laws

However Texas and a number of other states are rushing to put bills to block any federal guns bans

The 5 year reg is a money grab to me. I think they see this as a way to fuck over responsible gun owners for a much needed revenue stream. Will it be per gun, per person…what will the fee be etc…

Im stuck at work so im not seeing whats going on so I have a couple questions. I understand about the magazines and that doesnt effect me cause im allowed to buy the bigger mags. But as for the weapons themselves, ive gathered that you cant buy them online anymore, but will I be able to go to a store and purchase a new ar or any other assault rifle? Or are they banning all future sales and just grandfathering the exist ing ones in.

It already happened once in NYC

I’m no conspiracy guy but if you watched the exchange between McLaughlin it sounded like NY was going for a full ban and went to the current law.

Banning all future sales can grandfather what you have if you register it.

High cap mags, I’m guessing your LEO/Military? What I’m hearing from the inside is lawyers are trying to determine if there is still a LEO exemption. I would find it funny if they took away LEO exempt status and then expected them to go confiscate other peoples stuff. Kinda need that carrot to make people do what you want IMO. Either way, good luck fellas.

So as of now you cant go and buy any form of ar?? And if you dont own one now you cant ever own one legally in yhe future??
What about guns like the 10/22? If you have a pistol grip it needs to be registered as well?

I can sell you a lower lol

Pretty much if you don’t own one now or acquire one via private purchase before the end of the year.

Removable mag + pistol grip = 2 “evil” options I gather. The new law drops us to 1 allowed “evil” option from what I’ve read. Can anyone confirm or deny? The legal docs are impossible for non laywers to read IMO.

from what I gather you can’t own a semi auto rifle with a detachable mag.

What about a .22? Seems a bit excessive to ban all semi automatic rifles? I was under the impression it was just assault rifles.

It’s not just a rifle thing, is it? I thought it was affecting pistols too?

Well this just got a lot more retarded.

there is so much gun talk here because it’s topical… WOW SURPRISE!!!

i read about this thing going through the senate and thought it was made up. these laws are harmful to the whole anti-gun lobby and helpful to the pro-gun lobby because the laws wont have any impact.

you’re welcome by the way.

I don’t know how much this will do, but you guys can always sign a petition:

Wait…so having a detachable magazine pretty much means a rifle can’t have any other attachments? Am I reading this right?

So yes if it has a detachable mag it can’t have any other “feature”
