Damn passports are getting expensive. Mine was under $100 a few years ago, not that I really cared as my work paid for it anyhow.
^ i cared, I had to get me and Sarah one and SHIT it was about $300
Well, I am going on a cruise in a couple of weeks and i didn’t want to doddle on getting it. I can’t imagine having paid thousands to not get on the ship!
A group already proved they could scan and reprogram the chips on the fly.
So, it’s not really so secure.
I refuse to carry around an ID with a chip in it. Doesn’t anyone else get the 1984 creeps from it? :tinfoilhat:
Ugh, not valid for air travel. I wanted my girl to get one of these so we can go on an all inclusive for spring break but it looks like shes gonna have to go passport
How the hell did it cost you $160 for a passport. It should only cost $100 total for regular service (You get your passport in about 4 weeks). A passport is good for 10 years and will get you in any country. Why bother paying $80 for the new license? I can see getting the enhanced one if your license is going to expire soon, but if not you are better off paying the additional $20 and getting the passport.
How many Ameros does the enhanced license cost?:tinfoilhat:
Is it only good locally or can it be used on the super highway that is being built from Mexico to Canada?
Can you say New World Order?
Exactly!!! I have been saying that for way too long.
Why? What about people who live in the middle of the US and not bordering another country? Also, most people do not typically travel out of the country do not need one. Why pay 100 bucks for something they will never use?
If someone decided they wanted to take a vacation next year, its more than enough time to order one but its pointless to have if you have a license to identify yourself and never travel anywhere.
Bump.
I applied for one because I had to renew my license. What I just got in the mail today looks just like my old license, and doesn’t say anything on it about being “enhanced”. Did they send me the right thing? Anyone else get one?
It looks the same, there is a RFID chip…
I figured that much. But when I cross the boarder and the guy asks for my papers - the only way for him to know it’s an “enhanced” drivers license is to scan it. Shouldn’t it say right on it what it is?
