NYspeed 24 Hours of Lemons Team

IS MY CAR GONNA GET HELLA MUNCHED UP?
Oh, almost definitely. LeMons is a non-contact event, but it’s a crowded track with a whole lot of really hard driving. And even if your car survives out on the course, halfway through the race one entry will be chosen by popular ballot for immediate crushing. Could be yours. Heck, it probably WILL be yours. Be prepared.

here are a few pics of a particular SHO that participated.

there was a camo painted SHO that competed a few years back and I think he finished 2nd or 3rd but was penalized almost a hour because the officials claimed he had internal engine mods which was untrue. after the adjustment he finished in the middle of the pack which is pretty good considering the penalty.

get a 3.8 taurus, swap on SHO sway bars, cobra brakes and decent tires and beat the hell out of it.

how well would a 2wd s10 with a push bar fare?

guys,
Not sure if i’m wanted. BUT, i’d drop a minimum of $500 to be part of the driving team.

Seriously. I want part of this.

I would def be in

Has an impreza est value = $400… Investment in to this will probably 500 bucks per person or more… pm me if you are down.

Thought about doing this since i first read about it in grassroots…

except instead of a pos ford i wanna pimp it in style… something like this would work:

this would be so fun

I did this event this year at Carolina Motorsports Park in South Carolina. Highly encourage people to get in on this.

They just wrote about this in the NY Times…they’ll probably get tons of registration for next season.

I would def do this in CT.

any of the people that moved south want to put together a team for next year?

I know there are people in virginia here, I am in NC. hopefully they will host this at VIR or CMP

The website has the full list of places they do it. CT and Ohio are the closest to Buffalo. You get to spend up to $500 on the car, NOT including safety equipment. Gotta have a harness, cage, fire extinguisher, and some other rules to follow. Those don’t count towards they $500 spent on the car.

When we were setting up to do it, there was 6 of us, and it cost a total of ~$350/person. Not bad considering we towed the car to CT and back.

I would so be in for this.

Full 09 sced is up…

Anyboyd interested please PM me…

ILC your PM box is full

you still trying to put together a team? I have been doing some research and the races have been filling up VERY quickly, and you need to come up with a good theme for the team to get a chance of “Accepted” to the event.

Events “close” to Buff:

2: LeMONS SOUTH SPRING
Date: 4-5 April '09
Track: Carolina Motorsports Park, Kershaw SC
Entry Deadline: Ten weeks before the race (24 January 2009)

5: LeMONS NEW ENGLAND
Date: 11-12 July '09
Track: Stafford Motor Speedway, Stafford Springs CT
Entry Deadline: Ten weeks before the race (2 May 2009)

7: LeMONS SOUTH FALL
Date: 12-13 September '09
Track: Carolina Motorsports Park, Kershaw SC
Entry Deadline: Ten weeks before the race (4 July 2009)

8: THE LAMEST DAY (full 24-hour enduro)
Date: 3-4 October '09
Track: Nelson Ledges Road Course, Nelson Ledges OH
Entry Deadline: Ten weeks before the race (25 July 2009)

I would prefer to really shoot for the 24 hour race in OH as the main goal… i think that would be MUCH more fun to do and easier on everybody + a good way to end the driving “season”

That Porsche would get raped.

I had a taurus that I would of donated to this cause…

haha This is fantastic, Id def be along to document. LOL Shit i still have my stealth shell that thing full weight weighed 2900lbs

CMP CMP!!!

If any of the nyspeeders living in the south wanna do it at CMP, let me know. I would do it.

Any info on the date? I have tuns of rides for this let me know im interested. Craigslist has some nice rides 2. 300 chevy corsica older caprice. This looks fun.

In for Nelson, I have a few cars…

'93 SE-R shell that I’d only put a GA16 or KA24 in (no spare SR (1st coice because i’d like to use the shell before scrapping))
'94 Altima 5 speed
'95 200sx 1.6l 5 speed
'80 510 4 auto
'94 Voyager auto 3.3 v6(are minivans allowed?)

Maybe a '97 Lumina 3.1 if it is in good shape after the hangover…

SE-R would be good because I have spare set of GC coilovers 550f/500r on blownish struts, about 30 wheels, and enough used up all season that hold air. Might be too much work to put back to running condition though…

I talked to Jay @ Lemons last year and he said they didnt think they were going to do Nelson due to the speed of the course. Nice to see they reconsidered.

Can u find a cheap 944 that could last???
