I’ve been getting a lot of PMs about this so I figured I’d post up the info now for those looking to take off from work, etc:
July 5th (Thursday), 6th, 7th and 8th (Sunday)

http://www.grandprixtoronto.com/autoExpo.asp
http://www.gptautoexpo.com/ (They need to update that site, it’s still form '06)
Anyone who went last year will tell you it was one of the best events of the whole summer. (If they can remember it caughLAFENGAScaugh)
The reason I’m including Thursday (the 5th) in the event date is because last year we needed to have our cars in the show that night before the event opened on Friday.
Registration will likely be around $45 again, but I’ll be working to get the price down for us if I can. Registration includes your admission to everything - the Grand Prix, Auto Expo, etc. And when you look at it, this is the cheapest way to enjoy the GPT - You get high security parking for the whole weekend plus admission for less than regular admission! But also be aware - you will NOT be able to move your car from it’s place in the show until AFTER the event is over on Sunday.
It looks like the Delta Chelsea is the official hotel again, and that works because it was a great place and they had a nice shuttle service to and from the event
Last year I wanted to limit our exposure to 12 cars since it was going to be the first year Pressure ran the event… and as we all found out, it was hell when we got there, lol. This year I expect things to be much better arranged, so I’m NOT putting a limit on the amount of members who want in. In fact, last year we lost the opportunity to win a few thousand dollars for the largest group of cars… and I say this year we take that shit!
The event people know that our emphasis here at NYSpeed is on cleanly modded, performance oriented, street & track driven cars - not show cars. So they don’t expect us to bring them cars with crazy body kits and lights - and they appreciate that! But they do have restrictions on what they want in the show. That being said, please let me know if you’d like to go BEFORE you register and I’ll let you know if you’re going to have any problems or not. For example, if you have a bone-stock Neon SRT4 you won’t be able to get in the show. But if you have a bone-stock Mitsu EVO then you would be able to get in the show (Canada doesn’t get EVOs.)
As usual, EXPECT your car to have some sort of NYSpeed branding on it for the event.
I think that covers most of it.
